Play Fran Bow instead.

Sometimes it pays off to read the description.
I just thought "meh, another manga RPG", but "platformer" "metroidvania" caught my eye and it does indeed look nice enough without that psychedelic japanese hyper soundtrack and round based combat I learned to hate.
Nothing for my budget right now, but maybe some day ...

Pretty much. But while I hate all anime in general, even by its standards this looks unconscionably ugly.

Well there is no arguing about taste I guess.
I was about to buy this game, then did a double take while watching NosyPixel's review. I'm 99% sure they've used AI to generate the graphic elements for the levels.

There was already some non-AI jank with how the level elements were put together (skewed/warped graphics, tiled graphics abruptly cut, etc).
But after looking closer, some AI-ish jank became noticeable, like smeared-looking sections in places that didn't make sense. And then there was this section with the teapots and teacups (timestamped) which is just so full of AI jank, there's no way it isn't.

In terms of CG and character sprites, they don't seem to be AI generated. Not sure about the enemies.

Sorry to Sekai Project and GOG, the artist who did the CGs, and heck - even the dev who made such a cute-seeming whimsical game. But you've lost a sale from me. I don't support copyright laundering and plagiarism/dishonesty. I'm only interested in monetarily supporting real humans for their hard labor.

So ... which games or artists were used as template for the copyrighted materials?
Even if you are right and a AI was used, it's not the same as saying tht they illegally used other people's resources to feed it with.

You are throwing accusations without actual proof. I do share your sentiment about AI "art" but you are not helping the cause this way.

Perhaps you see what you want to see?
