Klumpen0815: It has been in the list for quite a while since it was made clear from the start that most content is locked behind Galaxy.

_ChaosFox_: So, GOG's second DRM catastrophe in a week after Gwent.

I have it on good authority from someone who has played it on PS4 that the "offline" component is little more than a tutorial that is completed within two hours at a leisurely pace.

I don't mind the use of the Galaxy API in general for relevant features, but disguising DRM in this manner is just unacceptable. I was going to buy Ys Seven and the missing Ys games but I think I'll just wait until this game is removed from the site before I buy anything else from GOG now.
Why would it be removed? This is the new improved store with all the standard industry features you would come to expect, got rid of all that difference nonsense.

It's actually third one. You forget online only dlc from Gremlins Inc.

Nah, he meant this week only, there are other examples, gremlins as you mentioned, armello is another.

cemacar: Ok, I played the game around 12 hours and these are my opinions.

There is content locked behind online. So I don't think this game is DRM-free.

If you rush you can complete the Story in 3 hours. A casual player can complete it in 6 hours.

In offline mode you can only learn only 1 addionational style(Stagger) You can't learn Khalt, Windfall or Forsaken Style these are locked behind Online you can learn these three styles from high level players you need to join their school.

After you cleared the main story what's left to do is learning new moves or killing the bosses again there is 3 main boss, 6 sub-boss and 1 hidden boss. You can rekill 6 sub boss and 1 hidden boss but you can't kill 3 main bosses again because in order to kill their higher level(it's like ng+) variants you need to do Combat Trials(PVP), so progress is locked behind online there is not much thing to do after completing the story.
Well, that just killed any interest I may have had in the game.
And I'll admit in this case, the game can't really be considered DRM-free even if you're only interested in playing offline single player, if the majority of content is locked behind being online and playing PvP.

Thank you for the truth which GOG is not able to provide us with anymore.
This if officially the point where I don't have qualms to just install Steam, where the same corporate bullshit is going on but you have a bigger choice of games.

I can confirm this.I know that GOG don't play the games they sell in their entirety but they should be given a full report by the developers of the game, right?

I tried to play offline to learn the game, to gather up gear and was unpleasantly surprised when i found out that i had to play online in order to unlock parts of the game.

GOG should have a serious talk with DEVOLVER because this game is not 100% DRM free.

Just to add before someone ask ''Why would you want to play offline and alone?''.Here is the thing, when you are online and other people join up your world all enemies multiply in numbers and in power. It is very hard to farm different moves when you are being attacked by 3 or more NPCs.Co-Op doesn't help.

Someone should really talk to DEVOLVER about what they've released on GOG.

What an awful game. Sorry but not sorry. ANOTHER game that is going to fail hard. I won;t give any more negatives except to say - save your cash - it is MOST def, better spent elsewhere - it is also NOT drm free. Cmon GoG - I talk you guys up all the time to friends - you're letting me, and a lot of others, down.
Before making claims - give all the info - not just part. tyvm
SC.
Umm seems like people still cant differentiate "DRM" from "online multiplayer" ha!

Some people still don't see, that multi-player can be DRM-free as well, as it mostly was in the past and still is with some new ones:

WOW, Looks like that's mostly on the developers/publishers then as they are the ones that will not be getting my money...Good to always be on your toes when dealing with developers/publishers within this easily abusive industry!

"...Offline Single-Player Experience Available: Journey on an adventure that will take you from Prospect to Absolver in an exciting campaign, available both online and offline. The single-player mode pits you, and you alone, against lost Prospects and legendary warriors in the ruins of the Adal empire - complete with all content, free of interactions and encounters with other players."

Unless they were to unlock the MMO content for offline players, then I'll consider this game/company blacklisted!...If it were up to me, all MMOs would be banned from here as SP is much more immune from abuse than MMOs! (Obviously not totally!)

Except this game was advertised as having a large offline component. To me that doesn't mean just a short story mode/tutorial. It's also entirely possible to have a vibrant multiplayer game without sacrificing the single player part or locking progression behind online stuff. See the Dark Souls game.
