I did it for him! And I'll kill you again if I have to! I'll kill all of you! – Amicia de Rune.

A Plague Tale: Requiem, heavily anticipated sequel to the critically-acclaimed 2019's A Plague Tale: Innocence is now available on GOG alongside its Protector Pack DLC, which provides the player with exclusive in-game content and Digital Goodie Pack containing art and screenshots from Requiem and Innocence available to claim for free until October 20th, 10 PM UTC.

This survival action-adventure stealth title with puzzle-solving elements follows the fate of siblings Amicia and Hugo de Rune, who are looking for a cure to Hugo's supernatural blood disease in Southern France, all while running from soldiers of the English Inquisition and hordes of infected rats that are devouring the world with the plague.

Events of A Plague Tale: Requiem take place six months after the first game. The plague has once again found de Rune siblings and while the region of Provence at first seemed to have given our heroes comfort, they must now travel to a mysterious island seen by Hugo in his dreams, as it may be the key to saving him from the disease. Amicia, hardened by previous experiences, and Hugo who has come to grips with his unnatural powers, will be led to act to the limits of their morality, as their friend of yesterday could be their enemy of tomorrow.

Requiem is both adapted to welcome new audiences that haven't played the Innocence and greet returning players familiar with it. As Sébastien Renard, Lead Writer on A Plague Tale: Requiem says, "Requiem is in the continuity of Innocence, resuming the story existing players are familiar with. But we’ve been committed to making a game that is accessible to an audience who is completely new to the series [...] The idea was to introduce every character and give them life in the present, guiding players to meet these characters, getting to know who’s who, and how they’re related. Of course, there’s no formal introduction of Amicia, Hugo, Lucas, or Beatrice. It happens organically. We simply make sure that the opening sequences have all the elements needed to understand the existing dynamics”. He also adds that by making sure not to fall into anything formal when it comes to re-introducing essential elements, the studio prevents a feeling of repetition for familiar players, who will enjoy the opportunity to reconnect with the characters and the world without being thrown back in at the deep end.

Similar to its predecessor, A Plague Tale: Requiem will be played from a third-person perspective, as we take control of both de Rune siblings. Larger areas, expanded stealth mechanics, new abilities significantly expanding the combat system and emotional, story-driven gameplay offering impeccable audiovisual experience, are among many other things we can expect from A Plague Tale: Requiem. Take part in a spectacular grounded fantasy and discover the cost of saving those you love in a desperate struggle for survival within a violent world twisted by otherworldly forces.

And if you want to see more of A Plague Tale: Requiem's world before you play it yourself, make sure to check out our Twitch Channel, where this Friday, October 21st at 5 PM UTC, BraxtonWise will dive into de Rune’s story.

Hi! Sincere apologies but we're having some troubles activating the pre-order content. The team is looking into it right now but it might have to wait until morning (Polish time). Thank you for your patience, I hope you understand.

I'm glad I'm not alone. I came here to report the same!

I guess I won't be playing it tonight then. Thanks for acknowledging this as an issue though.

Bugs aside, the overnight release of a game has its own special charm.
I appreciate the goodie pack, but it would be nice if its contents were also associated with each game as well, instead of being just stand-alone. Still glad to have this, even as is, so thank you.

So the dlc that's offered to me for $2.99 it's nothing I should be concerned about?
Not impressed by reviews, only dropping shortly before release.
Suggested Devs, or Publisher wasn't confident about it's reception.

Now we know why, performance is supposed to be very poor, even on high end hardware.
A Plague Tale Requiem Review | Innocence Dies "Buy, Wait, Never Touch?" - ACG - YouTube

Skill Up even got sent an RTX 4090 by Nvidia, as this is first DLSS3, release.
I recommend: 'A Plague Tale: Requiem' (Review) - Skill Up - YouTube

I'm on a EVGA GeForce RTX 3080Ti FTW3 on a 1440p VRR Monitor, so I'll be able to brute Force it, as I will never use DLSS.
Be very aware of the performance, and check Steam Reviews, Forum (The Data set is bigger, so a better indication of overall performance.

That click to play vids is new, don't tell me GOG can actually embed vids in posts now.
Anyway, My games now installed, time to crank up that GPU, and overpower the bad optimization.

I was about to write the same thing as Shiyardel.

The Protector Pack will be given to everyone who pre-ordered the game for free as soon as we solve the ongoing activation issue. :)

The Digital Goodie Pack is a separate thing.

Only you can know what concerns you and what doesn't, but I will try to clarify. I have made two stand-alone comments:

One was to state that the $2.99 DLC should have been unlocked for me for free, because I pre-ordered the game. It isn't unlocked at the moment and I'm not alone with this issue.

My second comment was about the free goodie pack, which has nothing to do with any DLC or pre-orders. I appreciate its existence, but I wish its contents were associated with each game appropriately, for more accurate archiving purposes. Currently neither game has any goodies on their own, they exist as a separate entity.

Hello,

I have the same problem regarding the Protector Pack DLC. I pre-ordered and didn't get the bonus.

I will wait.
