been waiting over a week for a refund on cyberpunk 2077 with no word from GOG, Due to the epic deal i wont be supporting GOG by buying from them anymore.
What does the refund own?

I don't disagree with your stance, but I don't think you'll get an installer elsewhere.
the game is on steam, i ditched my previous steam copy and got one at gog to help them out

If you go back to Steam and rent it, you're still helping CDPR and GOG. You're just helping them 30% less.

Understandable decision. I won't be buying games here any longer too.

Just write to them again. Support has become very sluggish and silent lately. Maybe because they now have to give support for Epic games too. Who knows. But keep trying. They are, by their own terms, obliged to give you that refund.

They are obliged, but apparently they make it harder to get a refund like most stores, just get some credit instead! Will you simply stick to smaller DRM-free sellers now? GOG means a lot to me for the actual installers, but the countdown has started.

Yes. I made a backup of my GOG installers and will buy games from other DRM-free sources in the future. zoom-platform, for example. Or itch or gamejolt. Fireflowergames is DRM-free too, but unfortunately they don't have any games that interest me (that I don't own already).
As I understand your decision, I still consider GOG the best source of DRM Free installers. I'm also afraid and I also started to backup my games purchased here, but when I'm looking for a game with easy to use offline installer, often with Linux port, GOG is the place, objectively.

That's exactly the point. GOG is still by far the best place to buy digital games. At the moment I can hardly find any new releases that interest me, but at full price I only buy here and every release of a longed-for title is a personal celebration.

Im fine with that. i just want to slap them on the hand for joining up with Epic, That said if they keep dragging their feet on my refund the slap will be harder due to me initiating a charge back from my CC

Oh, and one little case, which helped me to find a balance after the whole forum flame. There is that nice 90% discount for Gonner here right now. The price is extremely low, but time and backup are expensive ;) so I decided to check the game before I buy it here. I have it on Epic, as a freebie. As far as I know the game is able to run without Epic Launcher after being downloaded and installed. So I tried to use that Epic copy, just to check, if the game is my cup of tea.

After spending some time and solving a few problems yesterday, I'm still unable to run that crappy Epic Launcher under Linux, so I cannot get access to my game, which some people consider even DRM-Free (once downloaded).

At the same time I can see shiny game box on GOG game store's shelf, for a dollar, shipped with Linux offline installer. My question is - what am I doing? Let's look at the current state of things. It's the best deal available and contains all I want. There is still no such place as GOG and I don't want to be the one, who will push GOG into the grave.

You won't be. GOG is entirely capable of digging their own grave and jumping in, without anyone pushing. Unfortunately they have proven that by giving up everything that made them stand out.

I'll probably spend my last few bucks (can't get a refund because all I'm using are paysafe cards ) and return to Steam.
It's not great, but at least I can make a copy of the game directory and overwrite the exe, dlls etc. with cracked ones to play the games without having to run the Steam client at the same time.

Some companies will cancel your account, if you do something like that.
