MarkoH01: Actually this is the paragraph in question:
"d) Withdrawal Right: we give you the right to withdraw from a purchase of GOG content without charge and for any reason within 30 days after you bought that GOG content, IF it has not been downloaded, streamed, activated or used in any way before then. If any of those things happen then your withdrawal right is lost."

(Point 6 - Refunds and returns)
Good, ok then. Makes sense there is a time limit mentioned for that case too. So I guess OFG is out of luck, but I guess it never hurts to try, whether he will get some credit in order to purchase the new version.

Frankly the publisher should really offer a deep discount for existing owners to get the new version, or even give it "for free" if one has the earlier game with DLCs. Similarly like how The Witcher 3 was handled, I got the GOTY version on top of the base game + DLCs I had bought earlier.

I'm glad I never got around to buy PoE, part of the reason was because it had so many different editions and as I learned there is still DLC coming out for it. Similar reason why I haven't got around to buy Age of Wonders 3 either, I hope it gets a "definite edition" as well that I can buy.

Yes, but it took a few months at least to convince CDPR to do this. It was not an easy task at all.

Oh, I didn't know they had to be convinced (or then I have forgotten). Who did it?

In retrospect, I just found it a nice touch. Many other games have had that too (offering a GOTY edition or even a remake to all existing owners), kudos to their publishers too.

We all did here. And there were several of those threads and I guess a wishlist entry too.

Ok then, apparently I had just forgotten. Good that CDPR did the right thing, even if the only benefit was that instead of installing the base game + several DLCs one after another, I can install it all in one swoop with the GOTY version.

In the end that is all that counts.
