I just decided to fire up Cyberpunk for a second playthrough and to play the expansion but was met by this RED Launcher. Why has CDPR added a second launcher when we already have Galaxy? I used to launch through GOG Galaxy and I was OK with that. Now I have to launch through Galaxy to launch through RED Launcher? This is just outright annoying and frankly obnoxious.

I appreciate the DRM Free nature of GOG and CDPR but whoever is making these decisions clearly isn't thinking about the end user experience, seriously what benefit to is there to this other than annoying your customers?

I appreciate that I have to put up with this with account linking on Steam to other platforms but it seems to me that GOG are becoming more and more like other platforms, even with some quesitonable releases including DRM.

If CDPR are going to try and force the use of a launcher that absolutely no-one has asked for then I just as well purchase from Steam.

I appreciate I may be late to the party with this but it has really annoyed me - sorry folks!

Guess theres been an update since I last downloaded the offline installers.
I don't know what's happening with Galaxy (don't use it) but the RED launcher is skippable with the offline installer.

You can create a shortcut to the path: Cyberpunk 2077 > bin > x64 > Cyberpunk2077.exe as opposed to launching through the launcher app.

Is this not possible if you download through Galaxy?

Well, to give you a reason to post something, of course.
Why else?
I regret having these games on GOG because now I have an extra launcher just to launch another launcher. I mean, WHY?
I mean I know that there are sort of kind of some reasons for it but still. Frustrating and redundant.

If I have to put up with "the usual" stuff then might as well noth bother with this in the future and have all my PC games on Steam. Even though it has issues of a different kind.

The Steam versions of Witcher 3 and Cyberpunk 2077 also have the REDlauncher. This has nothing to do with GOG.

Add "--launcher-skip" command line argument to skip the REDlauncher.

If you want to play Witcher 3 without the REDlauncher and use DirectX11 then you have to additionally change in
launcher-configuration.json

"fallback": "DirectX 12" to "fallback": "DirectX 11".

On steam you will also have that extra launcher to open another launcher so I am not sure what you are trying to say here. I don't like it either...Ofc you can always add the --launcher-skip line and skip the launcher. Or if you use the exe of the game you can skip both launchers! That being said GOG does not really have anything to say in this anymore. They are quite separate now from CDPR with even separate accounts/forums. You can always post there of you want so the devs CDPR can see it!

I would rather navigate to the game folder and run the game directly. I hate the steam client. If i tried Galaxy i'd probably hate it. Unless it's a MMO that is used to download updates, it shouldn't be there.
Users here already have its pain - gog Galaxy 2-cr@p_version so CDPR and gog decided to make another pain in the b*tt - to release another launcher. So now when I buy any game made by CDPR I need to install another cr@p to play the game? Gog, CAN you STOP making such stupid decisions about such simple things? Gamers DO NOT need a lot of launchers (especially such buggy and messy like Galaxy 2)!!!
Gog, you better go back to your icing on the cake - Galaxy 1.2.67 and make it compatible with modern OS (Win 10, Win 11, !Linux!) instead of torturing a stillborn Galaxy 2-cr@p_version.

GOG has nothing to do with the CDPR launcher. GOG is just a store that sells you games.

Sure, and it’s just by chance that Cyberpunk 2077 never left the GOG front page in the last five years.

By chance ? I don' think so. I'd say it generates the most sales probably because its by far one of the most popular new games in recent years on GOG. Very much like BG3 which also hasnt left their front page since its release. But that doesnt mean GOG also has anything to do with the Lariant launcher which is very similar to the CDPR one ... I don't want to be mean but you really need to drop this lets blame GOG on every decision CDPR make. Its getting dumb. They made it very clear recently they are separate companies which they are in general. CDPR made their own accounts few months ago. GOG is also going to reduce the cloud saves limit to 200 mb for all games uncluding CDPR games - Cyberpunk is going from 2GB( I think but not sure) to 200 mb which is really strange but its happening.
