I recently uploaded the first part of my playthrough/ first impressions of No Man's Sky. That video was the third attempt (since then there have been a few more duds too), and I spent far more time editing the video than I have with any other game I've recorded (far more even than an almost 5 hour video on Lord of the Rings Online). I'm using Camtasia, and I find it not only very user friendly, but reliable, so I have no doubt the problems are arising from No Man's Sky. Everything from corrupted sections of audio, to audio being jumbled out of sync. I'd like to hear from other people who have tried recording the game, maybe they've had more luck.
I'd like to add that audio wise, I'd have the mentioned issues with both the ingame audio, AND voice-over recording.
Tried FRAPS yet? Maybe BandiCam will help in this case...
You can try using OBS, its free and its open source.

I've used fraps in the past, not very keen on it. I've used a few programs, and found Camtasia a really decent program to work with (allows all sorts of interesting options editing-wise).

Bram, have you personally used OBS to record No Man's Sky (whilst recording voice at the same time)? If so how have you found it?

Sorry I haven't played No Man's Sky yet.
But I have installed OBS and tried recording my desktop and my voice and that worked.
Just try recording No Man's Sky with your voice with OBS for a few minutes and see or it works.

Another vote for OBS.
It is really easy to set up & as the above said, it's free 8D
Before I download it, is there anyone who's actually tried it with NMS?

Some of GOG's Twitch.tv stream team use it. I can't remember which ones, but I'm pretty sure MemoriesIn8Bit used it when he did his NMS stream after the games launched.
You could try asking about this in Twitch chat when one of the people who's streamed it for the GOGcom channel is streaming again, and see what advice they have for you. (Here's the link to the VODs of the streams for the past two months or so. The [tentative] schedule for upcoming streams on the GOGcom channel is here. Some of them might also have streamed it on their personal Twitch channels, or made recordings for YouTube or whatever, too.)

Or if using window 10 this is built in with win key + G.

It's not. The Win+G combination is part of the XBox app (that comes bundled with Win10), but it may not recognize some games. You can always add them (as well as change the Win+G combo), but pressing Win+G will not always work.

Yes it pretty much will (assuming you leave the default combo). When you press win + G it will ask if this is a game, even if it does not recognize it so yes it will work with literally every game. It's just a simple matter of clicking a check box. I've used it with no issues even with games it did not automatically recognize.

Fun fact, you can actually use it with just about anything (including your web browser) as long as it's a program and the developer has not blacklisted this features from working (which so far only MS has with certain programs they developed from what I can tell).
