NEVERMIND.

What. A. Nightmare.

Looks like OldFatGuy will never have a cell phone. What a fucking nightmare.

For others... if you see the name "Freedompop" run away. Run far away. Don't touch with your worst enemies hands. You've been warned. What they did/do should be illegal, but we're living in a neoliberal age where businesses can do anything. And some of them have decided to take advantage of that. Freedompop is one such business. Again, you've been warned.

Try this. I can vouch that it plays with zero problems on 4.4 kitkat.

They're more Choose your own Adventures than rpg's, but the Lifeline games (I believe there's 3 of them) are REALLY good. I've finished the first two, the second one was just amazing but the first one was extremely emotional. I like them so much I rebought them on the google store because I got rid of my amazon app (It was eating too much memory on my tablet, i'm assuming it'd be worse on a phone).

One thing to keep in mind, if you buy apps on the amazon store, you'll probably have to install the amazon app, which is a major battery killer. Try to buy just from the google store if possible.

Seriously, OFG, try Lifeline. The first one I think is $2.99 - and afaik the series has NO microtran$actions.
I've played quite a bit of KoTOR on my 5" phone. I prefer it on my 8" tablet, but it's certainly playable on the phone.

I got it DRM-free from a humble bundle at some point, which is a nice bonus.

[EDIT] I also really enjoyed tallowmere on my phone. Completely different style of game, but lots of fun.

There's quite a few good ones available for android. You have Star Wars Knights of the Old Republic, Jade Kingdom, Shadowrun Dragonfall, Titan Quest and the Infinity Engine games. If you're not looking for a port there are still a few good ones but they still tend to have microtransactions even though they aren't necessary.

Damn, and I was about to tell you that some good ones are on sale, "Aralon Sword and Shadow", and the "Doom & Destiny" games.

That's not so bad. If anyone needs to contact you, they can always reach you through the GOG forums.

For me, finding something playable for my Android phone is a bit challenging. Since I usually have less time to concentrate on a game with a phone, and the controls and the screen size are "lesser" than on PC, the game can't be too demanding, but I don't like too simple games either.

I e.g. tried some "RTS" game from my Android Humble Bundle collection, set in ancient China or something, but I just didn't feel the love. They certainly had tried to make the controls simple for touch screens, but in the end I didn't feel the game was about tactics and shit at all. I was just moving around a group of soldiers on the map and they'd kill any enemies in their way. I didn't quite get what was the "strategy" or "tactical" part in it, so I got bored.

Some PC-to-mobile ports suffer from the small screen and touchscreen controls. One game that I really liked on mobile was Plants vs Zombies, the touch screen controls were perfect and while overall the game is quite simple and on the easy side, it still gave me enough challenge to keep me occupied.

Little Inferno also seemed quite nice on Android, but I just got bored of trying to figure out the correct toy combos to reach the objectives.

For RPGs, I once started playing Avadon The Black Fortress on an Android tablet, but quite soon decided that such RPGs I'd rather concentrate on my PC (I have both the Windows and Android versions of that game).
