antrad88: 1080p at 32" will look awful if you play at your desk close to the monitor. 24" screen is biggest I would go with 1080p.

Hirkis: That's the first time I hear such thing. Why do you think it will look awful if you don't mind me asking ? If the source is 1080p and not upscaled 720p like so many PS3/XBOX360 games, then I don't see why it'd look bad, in fact when it comes to TVs, 32 inches are the smallest screens you can get to enjoy full HD, and more often than not, it's subpar technology, the best 1080p TVs start at 40 inches. I know that TVs and monitors have different technologies, but still, it's a point to consider.
You are never so close to the TV like you are to the monitor when sitting at the desk, so the low DPI and larger pixels are not noticeable when far away. I have a 24" 1080p monitor and in some cases I can see the pixels from where I'm sitting(and I don't even have a great eyesight), at 32" pixels would be even bigger and more noticeable, aliasing would also be more noticeable. IMO 32" 16:9 monitors should be at least 1440p, 4K would be ideal.

I got it today. Really, really nice. It's not too big, but it is huge. :) im usually about 4 or 5 feet way from my monitor and the pixels aren't noticeable. If I sit up to pay the bills, they are noticeable. So it's working for my purposes, but wouldn't be good if I played up close a lot.

It's added peripheral vision to my games, which has totally changed my perception. Add Dolby atmos to it, which I got today, and it's pretty entrancing.

I played majesty briefly and it wasn't too bad, but with mouse and keyboard in hand, it was maybe a touch too big for comfort. But I'm a lazy controller user usually, so it should fit my needs. We'll see how my empire earth marathons do sometime in the near future.

Thanks for the recommendations!
Glad you found something good.

A bit surprised no one recommend this one. I mean, it's certainly got size going for it.

That was actually my second choice but I could only find a refurb.
I've got a Samsung Syncmaster B2330 that I've had for around 5 years now. Love it to bits, never had issues with it, and it's large enough to both watch movies on and for widescreen gaming. The only reason I'll upgrade is to go to 4k, but I'll probably still keep it around for a backup.
I just finished playing Majesty for a couple of hours, mouse and keyboard. It wasn't bad at all. Loving this monitor. It's ridiculous.
