Hi All. This is a general question. How are hot fixes applied to games that appear in your GoG library? Is there a way to display update history for game hotfixes by GoG? I see that a hot fix is available (GOG-4 HOTFIX 1) in my libray. Are hotfixes automatically downloaded to your game when you load it using the Galaxy app? I cannot tell because the game does not show any current version or hotfix information. I understand that Gog automatically applies any hotfixes released by the game developers to GoG customers and Galaxy users.

Thanks everyone! Steve

They are automatically applied by Galaxy as long as its set to update the game which is the default.

Hello Steve.

If you use Galaxy, the hotfix should be applied automatically to the game. Sometimes, you might have to restart the client for the update to take effect. If you don't use Galaxy, you will have to download and then install it like any other patch. As for finding out the changes of each patch/hotfix:

1) If you use Galaxy, select the game in question from the games list. Right to the "Play" and "More" buttons, you should see the number of the latest patch. Click it and it should show you a changelog with all the fixes.
2) If you don't use Galaxy, go to your library, select the game in question, click the "More" button and it should show you a drop-down menu. Select changelog from there and it should show you what each patch/hotfix has fixed.

Thanks. Yes, I use Galaxy. I clicked on the link 'GOG-4 HOTFIX 1' that appears to the right of 'Play' and 'More' and it describes a change log (below) as you said. I thought it just described what was in the hot fix (provided by the developer, Cyan) if you were to download it. I didn't realize that this showed that the hot fix had already been applied.

As a follow-up question: Do you know if there is a way to tell in the Obduction game itself the release level (including hot fixes)? I realize this is a question specific to Obduction, but I thought you might know this, too.

Thanks for your quick responses!!

Steve

CHANGELOG

Patch (30 August 2016)
Global:
Fixes for loading screen getting stuck in some cases
Improvements for screenshot functionality (Game no longer hangs, can take screenshots of books)
Small fixes for seed machines in Maray
Small update to the Credits
Art:
Tweaks to lighting and art around Farley’s house
Localization:
Fixes for Polish language
Known issues with unsupported languages:
There is currently a known issue with default system languages that are not currently supported in Obduction causing loading screen, menu, and subtitle issues. We are currently working on getting a fix in as soon as possible. The current workaround will be to change your game language away from the default English, load your save or start a new game, then set it back to English.

Unfortunately, I don't have the game, so I can't give you specific directions if it's actually viewable in-game, but maybe the version number is displayed somewhere in a corner of the main menu? Or perhaps in the credits?

No, there's no visible version number or About info. I know that Steam has provided a fix for Obduction, and on that version you can se that it's version 1.01. I do wonder how we get fixes from GOG.
