in many recently released games i purchased and yet installed, i always got an error box at the end of the installation procedure that stated "cannot update GOG Galaxy"

I thought Galaxy was an optional (and so far, still "beta") client
I don't have GOG galaxy ever installed (present or past) on the two machines i got this error box on

So why do i get a galaxy related error even without using galaxy ? (on machines that never encountered galaxy installer even once)
and also
Is there a workaround to allow me clean error-free installation* of GOG games now ? (aside from installing galaxy, that is, as it is not really a "workaround" or solution)

Thank you for any insight and solution about this issue

(* application-based errors and failures generate log entries on system, and one of the concerned machine is currently under monitoring for other matter, so, it helps having clear view)

Edit: not yet solved, but i had some PM exchanges with Judas that gave me some interesting insights and leads that make sense, though i couldnt reproduce yet the issue mentioned above, so it is still "unsolved" for now but i now will be more cautious to gather enough intel and screenshots about it if it were to happen again.

Maybe this issue is always resolved in the latest version updates:
Version 1.2.23
Hotfix for long Galaxy start, when it was installed not to default location

Version 1.2.24
Galaxy will no longer lose games when updated from version 1.1.30 to latest :)
Cheers
