Maighstir: Hmm... Playstation 3 games? Interesting, let's see here.

Already have Okami. Awesome game by the way. Supports the Move controller if you have one, which can be fun in the painting mechanic, but works well with just the controller (it was originally built for the PS2).

Not much into fighting.

Not particularly interested in Resident Evil.

Lost Planet? Whuzzat? Over-the-shoulder shooter with manual aiming on a joypad? No thanks, need a mouse if I'm expected to be anywhere near precise.

Wolf of the Battlefield? I've no idea what this is. Oh! Commando! I played that on the NES, I think? This one looks like arse.

Strider? Uhh... never heard of that one either. 2D platforming/fighting? Might be fun if not too difficult.

Megaman 9 & 10. Interesting, not getting the bundle just for that though. Would rather pay $10 specifically for those in that case.

Devil May Cry? Hmm, spectacle fighter. This one's hardly new, so I should really know this already, but is this one of those unforgivingly hard ones that you just have to git gud to get through? (I can't seem to get that to work, I only get an error message: "git: 'gud' is not a git command." Do I have the wrong version of git?)

Megaman Classic Collection. Ohh-oh. Not the game, but a promo code. Also Playstation 4 only. Useless.
Strider is easy and very fun to play. Your basically an over-powered ninja that can destroy entire nations.
Devil May Cry gets easier with each sequel too.
I already own most of these titles or even the PS2 versions of the Devil May Cry ones... but I guess that it would be interesting to get this after all.. Are they on individual keys? Anyway, If somebody organizes a giveaway I'll participate (The Resident Evils are what attract me the most.. be it PS4 or PS3 versions)

RayRay13000: Tempted to get it just for Mega Man 9 and 10, but I own some of the other stuff in that bundle. Meh.
same reason i dont bother either

cant help but feel that this coincides with the launch of playstation now for the pc though
I have a PS3 and a PS4, but still find this to be a fairly disappointing bundle. Strider, Lost Planet 3, and Remember Me have all had their (presumably superior) PC versions bundled before. Okami HD regularly goes on sale for less than 5 bucks, with the last time being less than a week ago. The Devil May Cry collection looks interesting, but its regular price is 20 dollars and it went on sale for 5 in June, so it'd probably be better to wait for another sale like that.

Maybe it's better if you're big into Resident Evil, Mega Man, and Street Fighter.

Maighstir:
well, dmc is fairly technical in terms of combat and learning enemy patterns and such. Boss battles in particular can be a major obstacle for new players.

But if you continue multiple times, you get the option of switching to easy automatic.

And 3 gives you the option of infinite continues when starting a new game (instead of having to buy them to retry from the last checkpoint instead of restarting the entire stage) without any sort of penalty.

Though I wouldn't consider myself a particularly skillful video game player and I managed to get through the game on normal eventually after putting in some effort and a lot of continues. And if you don't care about your ranking on stages or doing a little farming you could probably buy and spam items your way through.

(also dmc 2 doesn't really feel like the other games and kind of feels more like a middling ps2 action game that got repurposed after the success of the first game, so the difficulty is practically nonexistent >_>)

mrcrispy83: well, ...
All right, thanks. Both of you. You have swayed me. I'm still quite annoyed that the Mega Man Collection is PS4-only (also, the promo seems to be available directly from the Playstation Store, so unless the Humble coupon gives 50% off the promo'd price, it's very much a non-reward), but then again, I should probably acquire and play those on the original consoles instead.

Ricky_Bobby: Still, it's tragic to see non-US gamers get sidelined once again. I think it was the exact same issue with the Nintendo bundle Humble had a while ago.
It seems they added a disclaimer to the top of the page about the offer availability. But that doesn't change anything to those outside of Americas. Supported are only PSN accounts in U.S., Canada and most of Central and South American countries.

Completely offtopic, but it's not like the thread presents long-term interest, so:

I remember you asked for mathematical batshittery in an old thread. Unfortunately, I couldn't find any fun Fermatism online (well, there's a dedicated Fermat theorem discussion section on one of Russian math forums, but it seems sane as people are trying to educate themselves to understand the proof), and, not being a mathematician, I don't know where to start looking outside of Google.

However, this week I got linked to something truly wonderful and I feel compelled to share. [google translate] It's an article from a peer-reviewed journal titled "Proceedings of Modern Natural Sciences" published by the Russian Academy of Natural Sciences (a govt institution). Publications in journals such as these are mandatory to get funding (for organizations) and employment (for individuals).

Delightful.

Oh, and I just googled our homegrown Michelson-Morley truther, Boris Plakhov, who used to hawk his pamphlets to passers-by at the entrances to various universities in the early oughts. I kinda felt pity for him back in the day. Turns out in 2016, the fucker manages to book public libraries to give speeches. What a victory for academic freedom!
(I need a drink.)
