Hello to all,

I have several questions about patches.
It's clear for me that some patches apply to versions of a game, as fix patches, other ones apply to previous versions, as update patches.
But I must admit I have some doubts about these games :

The Witness
The game is in 964-Ansel (A) version - 964 ansel (a) 106171 (g) exe.
The last patch is named Patch 964-Ansel (gog-4) - 2104 exe.
Is it a patch designed for a 964-Ansel (A) version or for previous versions ?

Gabriel Knight - Sins of the Fathers - 20th Anniversary Edition
The game is in 2.01 (gog-4) version - 2204 exe.
The last patch is named Patch 2.01 (gog-4) - 2204 exe and have a size almost as high as the game's one.

Grim Fandango Remastered
The game is in 1.4.0 (gog-5) version - 2105 exe.
The last patch is named 1.4.0 (gog-5) - 2105 exe.

Day of the Tentacle Remastered
The game is in 1.3.11 (A) version - 1311 (a) 10017 (g) exe.
The last patch is named 1.3.11 (gog-10) - 25010 exe.

Among the Sleep
The game is in 2.0.1 version - 201 (3833) exe.
The patch is name 2.0.1 (gog-11) - 24011 exe.

I feel kind of lost. :)

Patches update games to the version given in the patch name.

When a patch is released, a new full installer is also available (except possibly in some rare cases) so that people who get the game for the first time only need to download the installer, but people who already have an old installer may save a bit of data by only getting the batch.

It's more common to only have a full installer (and no patches at all) than to not have the most recent patch bundled within the full installer.

Maighstir has answered it.

I noticed that you downloaded files with a (g) tag.
They are bundled with GOG Galaxy.

If you want to backup a lot of games, you may want to download "Classic Installers", aka Galaxy-unbundled, more clean offline installers.

Go to your GOG Library page, click MORE button and select CLASSIC INSTALLERS.
Sadly, you have to click MORE and CLASSIC INSTALLERS every single time, for every game you want to download.
Many thanks for your confirmation, both of you, it helped me a lot.

And by the way, I didn't noticed I downloaded the Galaxy-bundled versions... I already replaced most of my unbundled versions, thinking they were updated...

Back to the previous downloads. ;-)
