Not only PC games. It exists very many consoles' great games that be stopped sale from long ago.

Valkyrie Profile of PS1.
Kingdom Hearts series of PS2
Onimusa Tactic of GBA.
....

So, I always wonder: If GOG sells these old consoles' games someday ( we still have to play them with emulator software), will you buy them???

Not per game. I'd do a collection, and per collection $10. So it would be something like this...

$5 for GameBoy
$5 for Gamegear

$10 for SNES
$10 for Genesis
$10 for PS1
$10 for N64

$15 for PS2
$15 for Xbox
$15 for Gamecube

Although you could choose say 100 games, but i'd rather have a full collection no questions asked, and able to say i own said collection rather than seeing the same 40 games on a emulated hardware for Genesis that may be popular games but the games i really want not being there, nor could i play them when/where i wanted.

Truthfully i don't see this nor the console games working. But i'm not going to buy GoldenAxe for $20 by itself, or buying Super Mario Brothers on Gamecube with an emulator from official means for $10. Just not happening.

So you are suggesting for GOG to sell warez?

That would never ever happen.

For some reason I think that OP meant that IF GOG ever secure the publishing rights to sell the console games under some free public emulator (GNU License) with the blessing of Nintendo, Sony and Microsoft if need be.

Fat chance, but I'm sure that there is a high demand for that.

But. If they really sale the old consoles' games. They will become the only one website who sale these games.

I know many guy still trying to find some PS2 or PS1 games in hopeless. We don't really like piracy, but it is only way to find these game, until now.

I think the collection game isn't the good idea, especially with PS1 and PS2 game. These game deserve equal price as same as other PC games which be released in the same years.

I would definitely buy emulated console or Amiga games. It's not that easy to make work I guess, since GOG would have to strike deals with the publishers of the games and the emulators. We already have for instance the SNK games here, and a few (where is the rest?!) Amiga Cinemaware games (which use their own emulator which doesn't require the copyrighted Kickstart ROM images).

It’s never going to happen. PlayStation will rerelease it’s own games if it wants it won’t license them. Gog is too small to be of concern. Many hurdles would need to be overcome. A lot of consoles games are already on pc and still not here etc.
During the GOG documentary by Noclip one of the staff members implied that they had already had success making old console games work on modern PCs.

But as always, IP rights are hell.

Was that ever an issue? Console emulators have been with us for years, they let people play old console and arcade games on PCs just fine.

I've e.g. played many Playstation and PS2 games on the emulators just fine. I recall seeing e.g. N64 and Gamecube emulators doing great job as well.

So I don't think there ever was any technical hurdles there for GOG to overcome (that part has already been taken care of by various console emulator authors), the hurdles are legal.
finally, I think the most serious trouble is " how many among us will pay for the old console's game."

I don't think the studios have any trouble with it.

Exp: Square Enix allow us to buy PS1's version of FF7. It doesn't prevent them to sale FF7 version on PS4 ( the remaster version), with higher resolution and some new elements compare to PS1's FF7. Two products for two different customers.

I'm really dreaming about possibility to buy legally roms (just roms, nothing more, I prefer to put them in the emulator of my choice) of old games for different platforms.

(I'm not telling about those made nowadays homebrew titles, I know it's possible for them).

But as mentioned earlier in this topic - we probably won't see it ever (or at least not soon). Legal stuff, mentality of the big companies etc.
Much of it as has been said, is due to licensing and the nightmares around that.

Then there is the work involved in adapting and any fees due for that effort.

The owners also usually have to see the financial return as worth the trouble.

I'd certainly like to see some console games appear on PC, that work better than with an emulator ... emulators tend to be somewhat generic and not targeted toward running a specific game as best it can be.

One of my favorites, as I have mentioned elsewhere is Goldeneye, which I loved on the N64. I recently discovered that in 2010 it was revamped for the Wii, and then in 2015 a Reloaded version for Xbox 360 and PS3. And of course there is the multiplayer Half-Life Source Mod adaption for PC. I'd still love a proper PC version other than the emulated one.

Many things come eventually to those who wait, though likely many of us won't be around or too old by then.
Which will be a shame, as always, because we are the ones who would appreciate it the most.
I think it would be great to see console games available on GOG for use with emulators (or supplied with a built-in emulator). I never owned a Playstation, so I missed out on a lot of classic games on there.

Tbh though, the best place for GOG to start looking at this would probably be Sega, since they are not making/selling consoles any more. Nintendo and Sony are still making their own consoles, so they probably have more of a vested interest in selling older games in their own online stores for use with their newer consoles.

Otherwise, developers of old Atari/Amiga games might have some interest in making their games available for emulators. If GOG were to use free-software emulators, I don't think there would be any issue distributing versions of them bundled with the games (i.e. the same way they are doing with DOSBox right now).

It would be another way for GOG to differentiate themselves from Steam. Has GOG ever made any statements regarding the possibility?

no i don't think so, most console titles are a pretty big disappointment when i try those, from FFXIII which would have been fine at 60 hours to Kingdom under Fire not to mention those loads and loads of jrpg look a like things

i rather give fantasy general a go then i would try and sink my teeth in mario world... or Zelda
1 it's not going to happen
2 I wouldn't want to deal with whatever ugly and laggish wrapper they come up for the port
