i am installing gog games by using their independent setup files. i am not using gog galaxy

often the game setup files are bundled with extra programs like dotnet, c++ redist and so on and those bundled programs are installed automatically during the game setup

i want to ask is it possible to tell the game setup to skip installing those extra bundled programs?

Not really, it’s another issue with the installers. Sometimes you get a dialog box which asks you if you want to install (dx and physx do this) which you can cancel. There is an installer out there which will install all the necessary extension:

Once you have them, then it should just detect and not reinstall them.
You have to have them, and the right version, to run certain games.

Nothing at all. If you already have the dependencies installed, it will not reinstall again. If you don't have those dependencies at all game will not run.

Regarding your original question, you can't tell the setup to not install the dependencies but you can use 7zip or innoextract to extract the instalation files and use them individually. Some games don't need to be installed, just extract and run from the .exe

Ok, it’s quite simple. Games have requirements that need to be on your machine to run, that is what these extensions and additional components are. In the thread I presented it shows things you can do so the additional components are already on your machine, such as:
https://www.techpowerup.com/download/visual-c-redistributable-runtime-package-all-in-one/
Which can install all c++ extensions in one, so installers don’t need to do it.
If none of that makes sense, then just let the installer you have run, it installs everything needed to run the game.

I always find it fascinating when someone asks a simple question and then receives answers that only serve to confuse.

So, to answer your question: No.
And here's the reason why you actually don't want to skip those files/programs: because your game very likely won't run, if you do.

i already have that installed. i just dont like the games to keep on installing the dependencies because i already have them. the other guy said that they wont be installed so that's good

If it is already installed, then it is simply checking not reinstalling. Do note there are lots of different versions, from different years and 32bit and 64bit. So yes, sometimes it will install one you don’t already have.

Amazing, you take issue with my post, the. Reword it. No rather than not really (which is incorrect as sometimes you can skip installing them, you shouldn’t, but you can. Rather than “ them, and the right version, to run certain games.” you write “very likely won’t run, if you do”.
I provided extra information as it’s good to understand what these components are and why they are necessary, not just for gog games, but for all games.
