infyrin: People have preferences where some do not want to have a program running all the time to play said game.

I've drawn down my reasons for wanting to remove a Steam game and it's down to this:

- If it has NO achievements on it
- None of it's features are fused with the Steam client itself
- The ability to actually have a DRM-free game without it being removed if I removed it from Steam so that way I can make some games a little more exclusive.
- I don't like the ability of relying on Steam Cloud and having to re-download through Steam's servers over and over again. Having an offline installer is much better.

SirPrimalform: I think you misunderstood my post. I understand completely not wanting to play the game on Steam. What I don't understand is why you'd want to actually remove it from your account? I totally understand preferring the GOG version to the Steam version, but why not just ignore the Steam version?
I've already covered those bases.

Well in that case I think your expectations are unreasonable. I haven't seen any real justification for wanting to actually remove the game from your account.

EDIT: After going back to check in case I missed something, your apparent 'base covering' is a post that consists solely of the word "Preferences". I don't see why GOG should open the door to fraud to enable your OCD. If you have an actual reason for wanting to delete a game from your Steam account then explain it, "because I want to!" doesn't cut it.

I listed them, I have no further justification for you. Apparently you're not reading anything but selectively.

Also, again, it's not "fraud". How's it fraud when I've bought a game and I'm not allowed to do much as I please with two copies from two different sources? I think now GOG Connect is misleading when they've said "You own the games, so why buy them more than once?" but in reality, with their reserved action on deleting said game from your gog library because you decide to delete the Steam version. You're not really an owner of anything - you're privileged.

And yes, people do have preferences and excuse them that they have sane reasons to do so.

What you listed were reasons to not bother installing/playing the Steam version, I see no justification for deleting it from your account. What practical advantage does deleting it from your account have?

At no point did I suggest you were planning to commit fraud, I have no idea why you'd jump to that conclusion. What I was suggesting was that GOG reserves the right to remove the game from your GOG account if it disappears from your Steam account for reasons of fraud prevention. I would imagine it's to stop people getting a refund on Steam as soon as they've registered the game on GOG and other such scams.

Your preference is completely unjustified. You're welcome to prefer it, but it's unreasonable to expect GOG to allow fraud just to accommodate your whims.

My reasons I listed were reasons is to cut down how many games you have on one platform in favor of their version on the other platform. I don't know what you're trying to fish for here...

I've still not have gotten an official word yet so you can't assume that's what they'd turn me down for.

That's one reason, perhaps, but they'd need to think outside the box and not look at users all the same.

As I've said before, they didn't really think all of this through. They're going by the set standard of what to expect.
Hi all! I have some perception about GOG Connect.

First... It would be very good a GOG Connect button, or any short link in the main menu bar, or in the Account menu. I can't find a normaly way to access to GOG Connect.

Second... I linked my Steam profile to GOG Connect about few weaks ago, when this function started. Not even, and not now there wasn't any eligible game to connect to my GOG Profile, but in my Steam library there is nearly 400 games. My Steam account linked properly, and a Privacy Settings & Profile Status are set to public. This is okay? If it is, the GOG Connect function currently near to useless. :(
Please tell me what should I do. (THX in further.)

I have Steam account and GoG's. I want to gift my Steam account to a brother, but leave a GoG One to myself) If I connect Steam to GoG via GoGConnect I couldn't connect another one, but: what if I already connected some games but want to disconnect Steam acc from GoG's one. Can I do it and how? Will I be possible to connect another Steam one to GoG one if I accept to clear all added games from previous Steam one?

Please answer.

I will sing at every word. Add THE BIG RED BUTTON. Well, it's a joke, not a red one, just add it. Lavender and nice. ;)

They've said already that you should MANUALLY add every AVAILABLE at THIS MOMENT at GoGConnect game, and if it will be so, you will be able to connect any game you have on Steam's IF it will be AVAILABLE at PARTICULAR MOMENT on ~33 hours PERIOD to add this game to GoG. ANOTHER bunch of games will come up LATER.

P.S.: And there will be no need in waiting for a weaks. ;)

The Connect FAQ says you can't do that:

"You can only connect one Steam library per GOG.com account. This process is permanent."

Of course you can contact support and see if they will make an exception, but I doubt it.
i'm starting to notice the connect must be a come and go where it pops up for a time and then goes away because the games on the connect went away and also what PaterAlf said
