This one is a gorgeous-looking chair and it looks comfy. You might wanna pop down to the local retailer and have a test sit. Bring a book or your laptop and sit in it for a while to see if it (or any other chair you might consider) feels good in the long run.
I'll recommend an ergonomic chair if you're spending long hours sitting. I got a $200 gaming chair but it does nothing for my posture

Interesting! And since it's a japanese brand, it shouldn't be too hard to find!
I currently use a Herman Miller Embody which costed over a grand. It's an okay chair. Previously used a Dx racer gaming chair, also okay. And before that I used some plain office chair with no clue of what he brand was or where I got it from. It was also an okay chair.

Each chair was used heavily and I never really had a problem with any of them. I think any computer chair will be adequate, just get whatever fits your budget.

teceem: I second this! Get a refurbished office chair.
I got mine free from my former workplace when they were downsizing, closing some offices. Then they just gave office chairs and shit to employees (those who weren't yet laid off).

I also bought the cheapest fake-leather "office chair" from IKEA, one that also seemed to have the "free rocking" mode that I consider vital. It certainly was cheap (I dunno, something like 20-30€ ?), but it is flimsy as hell and I think its rocking mechanism got broken, and now it doesn't rock anymore. It is now fixed to the upright position, but at least it still rotates.

So yeah I think it pays off to pay a bit more for the chair.

teceem: Why would a "gaming chair" have anything to do with gaming (except for the name)? Isn't it obvious that it's a marketing thing? What's next? Gaming shoes? A gaming fridge?
When someone mentions a "gaming chair", this is what normally pops into my mind:

You know, integrated joysticks on both sides and speakers near your head? "Perfect".

I recall also those fancy "gaming stations" where you could fix a desktop PC, keyboard and a big CRT tube to the same frame with the chair. They never seemed to really pick up though, I guess people found them too... odd.

If you decide to go for a office chair make sure to try a few before buying, even if they are ergonomic doesn't mean all will fit your body type. There's also the 24 hour office chairs that are made for people that need to sit for a long time, one brand that make these is KAB. Personally I didn't find them comfortable and went with a chair from Kinnarps.

xa_chan: Thank you everybody! I was alreay not in favor of a "gaming" chair, first because they look hideous, second because I really wasn't convinced they were more than marketing tricks. You all confirmed my thoughts.

No risk I use the wheels instead of getting up and walking, though, since in fact my apartment made me put my chair between a wall and my desk, so I really can't go anywhere while sitting! ^_^ But I do agree with the stretch routine in the day.

Since Japan is basically a huge office with some touristic spots here and there, I'll look for a quality office chair. Any brands to recommend? Not sure I can find them here, but that would be a start.
Look https://www.autonomous.ai/office-chairs/ergonomic-chair?option20=53 is higly adjustable and sturdy, if you want a real ergonomic chair there's nothing better in that price bracket.

True. I won't buy any without trying them first!
