I wanted to ask that are there any other methods of payment or plans to introduce different payment methods apart from credit cards? Like localized Debit cards and other such things similar to what Steam implemented some time ago? I hail from South East Asia making online payments through credit cards a bit of a problem in many countries and I have to rely on GOG connect and the occasional free games to get them on GOG. I would really appreciate if someone can provide a solution.

What do you mean by localized debit cards? Gog does support debit cards too along with PayPal, webmoney, skrill. You can look at all the payment options by proceeding to checkout after you select a game to buy.
All I know is that the available payment options differ from country to country.
What is exsctly the problem? Do you get a specific error message? If you post it maybe someone will be able to provide help.

In the past it's been brough up that GOG's fiscal address in Cyprus can be problematic for some banks. I also have had the experience of troublesome international credit card payments in Asia... Have you tried opening a ticket with GOG Support? Maybe they could telll you about what oayment options exist for your country.

So here's the thing. When I use a Visa Debit Card it asks for 3D secure services. It is an extra security measure provided by Visa but is somewhat mandatory in my country to go through. Other sites which support this measure will redirect me to a page that does this and I can then carry on the transaction. That's not the case when I am buying from the GOG site or GOG Galaxy. I will try GOG support though. Thanks.

Localized as in Domestic Debit Cards. Take it like it puts an extra measure of security.

My Irish card uses some Verified by Visa as an extra security, and it does work. Redirects me to their page and then back to GOG to complete the transaction.

Did you try using Paypal? You can just link your Paypal account to your card and use it to buy without this extra security steps. At least it works for me.

The poster is talking about a debit card that only allows you to make purchases from certain countries. For example my debit card is only for online purchases from the US and Canada.

The issue has been much discussed previously. A forum search for 'debit card' should pull up lots about it.

You have three options.

1) Try paypal. If you have an option to buy a local plastic Paypal card off of a local store's rack like a debit card, that may be the best and only option for you. Please note that I wrote "local plastic Paypal card" and not their own prepaid debit cards.

2) Talk to your debit card's bank. They may be willing to remove the restriction.

3) Find someone with a real credit card and get them to put some money on your wallet. This is what I had to do finally.

Good luck

The issue has never been fixed, GOG continues to only support payment options in 3rd world countries in Europe with no chance of them adding more unless their profit margins start falling, which will happen when the Euro and the European Union starts crumbling under its socialist weight.
Going to respond to your options drmike...

1) Paypal is great until they fuck you over and when it happens (and it will) don't be dumb and continue using it, there are plenty of other viable payment options GOG just don't see a need yet.

2) I'm sure your bank can remove the restrictions, also you'll lose any protections from fraud as well which is a stupid move. You can say the bank is crap for doing that but GOG head quartered in Cypress due to low taxes there but leads to the problem of it being the head quarters of most of the world's fraud, any bank not placing restrictions on GOG purchases isn't one you should stick with.

3) Thats probably the riskiest thing of ever heard of to bypass GOG's lack of payment options, I've just traded steam games for GOG games but people are getting retarded lately and ask for all steam games for 1 gog game now... Going to try giving a "no-steam" patch along with my steam game trades from now on and hopefully I won't be scalped so damn hard.

Final note to the OP, your in India and you want to PAY for your games... India banned piracy or something? I mean don't get me wrong its great that you want to get your games legit but your wasting your time trying to buy GOG games until they add more payment options. If there are some certain GOG games your looking for let me know I can upload them somewhere so you can download them.

Took me almost 5 years to get a game bought here. It's an issue here in the US as well, not just Asia. Again, a quick search of the forums will show that.

Oh and don;t create a Paypal account. Do any purchases as a guest every time. I do. :)

Had no problem buying a game here the 1st time which was like 2 years ago and that was with prepaid Visa/Mastercard gift cards, the next day I couldn't and found GOG no longer allowed them due to "fraud" or some stupid reason, I just like to think they hate Americans so I will pirate GOG games when I can and never think twice. Hoped the games, Dying Light and Ashes of the Singularity had some people playing online on GOG but nope, nary a soul is ever online due to "Galaxy = DRM = BAD" but I should have figured as much, traded so much to get those as well.

Thanks for responding. I wanted to buy some nice old school games that work nicely on modern systems too, as GOG quite nicely does the job. Also, thanks for the offer but I'd rather wait for the time being. Really appreciate the help.
