Hello everyone,

I am new to GOG and would like to ask for help with some issues I have been having with the Quest for Glory game series. Please forgive me as I am not able to make any contribution to the community for the moment as I am a newbie here and not the best with computers yet when problems arise.

I downloaded the QFG series years ago in 2012 from GOG.com with and exe file. I played all of them with dos box which I downloaded separately and played all of them except QFG II and never had any issues, glitches, crashes etc.

Now I have found the same exe file from my old computer and decided to download the series on my new computer ( windows 11 pro 64 bit, but wasn't able to - and I can give more details to that later with screenshots etc- so then I downloaded them from the GOG galaxy platform, and I started playing. Then, this one glitch appeared often where the game became discolored and strange. A second glitch appeared which seemed to be as if I had skipped over a necessary mission in the game; using the mirror on Baba Yaga, turning her into a frog and provoking her departure. I used the dispel potion on Elsa at the brigands fortress to transform her back into herself and left through the passage she had indicated to me. Then from there, I just keep appearing in the castle where all the characters are. The end. It doesn't seem like I am able to export my character to the next game either as I haven't seen that prompt.

Does anyone have any ideas on how to remedy the situation or?

This sounds like a job either for ScummVM, a newer version of Dosbox, or one of the Quest for Glory VGA remakes made with the blessing.

The version I played was VGA. I might have to try ScummVM. I'm just not sure what to do after since I'm playing on GOG galaxy. I ll try to download the game with the exe file and upload a screenshot where it seems to get stuck.

As far as I am aware QFG2 had a remake by fans. Assuming you have any interest in the higher quality look. Since officially it lacked the higher visuals as the others.

Are you certain you picked up the mirror before leaving the Brigand Leader's office? (I think it's in the desk)

It's quite possible the game glitched out in not registering it, but the only thing I found online regarding being taken straight to the castle without given time to deal with Baba Yaga is:

In the brigand leader's room, if you don't take the mirror before exiting, you'll automatically be taken to the castle for the ending, but you'll be told that Baba Yaga's curse is still on the Baron. If you take the mirror, you'll exit the secret passage and will be able to walk to Baba Yaga's hut, or go to the castle yourself.
When it comes to getting the prompt to export your character you have to be patient at the end of the game for that to happen. Dunno the specifics though.

The psychedelic color bug is well known to the VGA version (normally it happens after a combat event).
