Nordic Games is going to distribute the Quantum Break's physical edition this friday. Is there any chance to get it on GOG since Nordic Games have a bunch of his games here?

Remedy Studios launched Alan Wake on GOG in the past, so maybe... Hopefully we can play Quantum Break this weekend DRM - Free. Cross - fingers!

Fat fucking chance... especially since the episodes are stream only on the PC version

4k (I think... might be 1080p) - stream only - who the fuck thought that was a great idea when there are data caps / excess use charges... even the XB1 gets them as a download option... for an additional ~75 gigs iirc

I read an article about in on pcworld that seemed to indicate it was a pretty poor port to PC. That was last April. Has it been improved? It looks like a cool game, but if it's anything like the port of Dark Souls was, I'll pass.
Quantum Break won't come to GoG anytime soon.

Like most Microsoft games that get ported to PC nowadays, you need a high-end rig to run it at 60FPS (with compromises), so nothing changed.

Wait, what? Well, that seals its doom for me, then.
Oh, hell, it also requires Windows 10. Yeah, not gonna happen for me any time soon.

Yep, for a while that's a sticking point. While on the XBone you can download them, but they aren't included with the game when you buy/download it. Why? I don't know, maybe because everything has to be HD video rather than lowering the quality to make everything fit on one disc.

But on PC... yep, Windows 10 store only (as of currently), and all videos are streamed, no saving.

Yeah... XB1 had a DOWNLOAD to HDD option (not on disc) for ~75 gig - PC does not have that... and the videos will be 4k only - streamed

I'd be happy with DVD level quality for videos. that would be... 1Gig maybe?
The retail (and Steam) release is a new port, based on DirectX 11, because the DX12/Windows Store one is unfixably broken because the UWP platform flat out doesn't work for proper games. Hopefully that means it will be far better optimised, because Remedy only used 12 in the first place because Microsoft demanded it as part of their publishing deal (or something along those lines).

The videos stream because not only are they HD Live Action, but they change to reflect your choices and actions in the game. If they included every permutation on disc/as one big download, the game would be even more massive than its current 65 or so gigabytes.

I'm sure there's maybe 4 major versions of videos in some cases, but they never refer to previous choices unless there's 1 major one that somehow carries over. Some things following permutations of this ideal could include extra video footage between video-footage, or background footage playing with foreground footage, although unlikely.

I really doubt there are that many permutations to consider.
They could just slap the videos in 720p on disc, and ask for a download if you really must have 1080p or 4k in-game. Of course, fat chance to get that game here, considering the way its built.

Yeah, I actually read that they won't even update the Windows Store version anymore or at least that its support will be extremely limited compared to the Steam version. The article didn't say that it had anything to do with the tech. Well, that explains a thing or two.
Crikey, what a confusing mess. I just fired up Sang Froid, so I'll stick with that (and my 300 game backlog). For now, this one will go on the 'what might have been' list.
Considering that the Windows Store and (as far as I remember) the Steam version need an active internet connection to view the cutscenes, I doubt it'll show up here at all.

The sheer size of them are too big. I can't really name a single game here that I own that's over 10Gigs. Most of them are far smaller, a gig or less. It's only the recent wave of games that are so horrendously huge. Truthfully beyond a certain size, I wonder if you make a lot of money, especially if you have to re-download the entire game every time the game updates (like some games do).
