Yep, this is not going to be a happy fun time thread. This is a thread for tracking publisher* related kerfuffles, killings, and generally not good behaving, so you can make informed decisions on if these problems are enough to blacklist them personally.

The impetus of this thread is on the matter of Nacon/Bigben & Cyanide, who most recently screwed over Frogwares, and now Paranoia: Happiness is Mandatory.

Source 1 [French magazine Gamekult] is an article overgoing the current complaint against Nacon.

Source 2 [GameIndustry.biz] Article about the DMCA takedowns issued.

Source 3 [PCGamer] asking "So whatever happened to that game?"

Another publisher on my mind as GOG continues to still publish games from them: Nicalis.

{PC Gamer} Article is about how Binding of Issac dev cuts off relationship with publisher.

{Videogamer} Tyrone Rodriguez attempts to explain away accusations of ghosting, racism, exploitation, and more.

{RPS} Accusation of exploitation.

{Nintendolife} Secondary source for accusations.

*(Yes, specifically publishers, so Wube Software, Firehold, and others are not relevant to the discussion.)

Feel free to use this thread to post other publishers of ill-repute, but remember that rage against the machine is meaningless without providing excellent sourcing.

Edit: Also, I'd like to thank the programmer who didn't sanitize the inputs of anything between brackets.

You mean a lack of renown? Maybe disrepute is the word. Anyways, TBH it would be quicker to list those who still have renown. THQ are still pretty good, after that I am struggling.

You mean THQ Nordic, the ones who decided that Linux versions of games should be exclusive to Steam, even when the Windows build is available on DRM-free stores? Or am I mixing things up and are THQ and THQ Nordic two distinct game publishers?

Desperados 3 on GOG, Windows only
Desperados 3 on Steam, Windows, Mac OS and Linux

THQ (Toy Headquarters) is a long dead company, so there should be no mistaking with anything.
