RedRagan: People still buy games from them? Really guys? Fuckin weak if you do.

avatar
Anothername: Kotick still in charge?
avatar
RedRagan: Kotick is just one of the problem. The middle managements and the employees are also toxic
Probably. But with him still there I do not even need to bother to start reconsider and re-evaluate them.

Spectrum_Legacy: These deals are terrible. ITAD says they are of rip-off quality.

viranimus: For the record you do not need to "save emails" as that information is available in your profile under "Orders and settings" and then just adjust the check boxes under "order history" to have "completed orders" only.

Could make it easier than sifting through old emails.

Spectrum_Legacy: Yea dude, but if you don't save your emails / proof of purchase, you might become sad in rare cases when games disappear from the library. It was reported that the game will disappear from the order history as well and the only thing left is your memory of it. Or worse, that nagging feeling which comes with having to figure out what that -1 to your library count could be.
I confess I had no clue GOG would so something like this (given they explicitly state if you buy it you own it) but this post sent me on an adventure this morning to learn ARMA 2 which I paid 15$ for in 2012 has been completely removed from account and even order history.

This is unacceptable as there is no direct email notification of it being removed to warn someone they need to download it if they intend to keep it. I cant even figure out WHEN it was removed and with a library approaching 800 titles I dont have time or energy to try to track down whats still in my account I have paid for and what was stolen from me. Guess Ill never play that DayZ mod I said one day I would play and still havent over a decade later.

EDIT: It IS still visable in history. BUT it no longer allows you to search specifically for it. So you just have to know when you bought it and seek it out manually.

Dang, that sucks. Though at least you know which game it is... my buddy has it worse, as he can't figure out which game got removed from his library to this day and gave up on it eventually. I reckon it's a database problem on gog side and not a deliberate action, some entries got scrambled or were nudged in either direction row/column-wise and a thing got missing. In my case, I only ever lost those TES freebies from bathesda, just like many others who reported the issue, but was able to re-add them both. That was clearly gog handling those freebies in a weird way.
However I wonder if your purchase was just a single game of Arma 2 and not a compound order like in your case, maybe it wouldn't show in the order history at all. The support should be able to resolve it for you though, just have to chew through that terrible chatbot.

Still I agree that it's not very confidence-inducing to have things disappear like that. I no longer make fun of people who backup everything, including archiving those payment emails. One never knows when they might come in handy. Anyway, I hope that you get the game sorted out dude!
