joppo: Did you find the pre-patched version anywhere? I think I'd like to try my hand at the original, see if I can take it on. It will give me an excuse to play through the whole game again :)
ZFR: Used ones on Amazon can be found for a couple of pounds (the cheapest at the moment that ships here is for 6 pounds). Not sure how it would be with Brazil shipping but you can find some real bargains if you look around and you don't need anything urgently and don't mind waiting (recently got original Grim Fandango for 2.50 incl. shipping).

So you could also look for someone who has the older version backed up. Of course you'll need to own the game on GOG to be able to use it legally.
The legal requirement is easy: I own a copy in my Gog shelf. The hard part is finding someone who kept a backup and convince them to let me copy it.
At which point I think I'll probably waste less time getting a copy from other, let's say, "less reputable" sources. But even then I might not get a version from before the 1.05 patch.
An used retail CD is a possibility, but I'm not exactly eager to use extra space to house my physical collection, besides I think it's too little benefit for the cost of the only copy I could find with a quick search.
ZFR: And finally, you could always manually keep track of your lives and subtract 1 every time your "protege" dies or you fall off the edge or into the water... etc, then once your lives should reach "0" start from the beginning of Meat Circus.
Not only that would be a pain, it would also be a lacking substitute. One of the changes introduced with the patch is that the monsters in the level don't hurt you anymore, just the kid you're escorting. No amount of "keeping track" from my part would suffice.
