I have just played about 200 or so games of Gwent this season. I wouldn't say I'm a bad player, or the most analytical either. However when i first played the game was a bit unbalanced to any Monster deck. Now it is completely biaised to just one or two factions. When cards not played can attack your cards, then hide, do it again with better stats, and then do it again by being played, its like playing one card for every three cards of the opposition. Nilfguard does this. I could do this deck too. Its not hard to come up with, since every other person i have played this week does the same thing, but its really boring and one dimensional. I've played a lot of game over the last few months but find the latest iteration of this game - in a word useless. It is only a beta, but its gotten worse not better.
If the developers took the time to look at the decks people use, or even the factions I'm sure they would see the same pattern. Repetitive use of the same thing. Also, a lot of the games I have played have resulted in me feeling like - if only that card had come up in my hand instead of that one. eg. chance. A lot of my games seem to have been decided by chance including my wins as well as my losses. I do the best i can with what i draw and discard but on balance chance is deciding it more and more.
I tried to go and provide feedback on this via the Gwent portal but my browser kept crashing and kicking me out.
I tried to search in this feedback area for others who had similar experiences but the search either just doesnt' work or isn't intutive to me.
So here is my feedback on Gwent today. Hopefully it will become more balanced and fun again. Otherwise my advice is, play Nilfguard, use war machines and support them, and sit back whilst you opposition leave the game early when they can't even fight your unplayed cards.
Happy New Year!
