Gamers like me who plays a lot of games on steam sometimes value their looks (background, artwork, screenshots, achievments, badges etc.).
Some things like backgrounds (just like in steam) could be unlocked by owning certain games, or make them availible from the start. Having cosmetic features like these could also get people to be more comfortable with leaving other clients (like steam or origin). Friends could look each other up and think to themselves : gosh, i wish i had such a cool profile and then spend more time on the client (which in turn makes the client more emotionally valuable)
Also the addition of screenshot showcases or artwork showcases (which i use to get a full background on steam) would be a nice addition as well!

Uh.... They already have backgrounds and the like unlocked when you purchase games...
