Some games launch from behind the GOG Galaxy. That is, there is no switching to the window of the running game. I still see my GOG Galaxy window. I have to manually click on the game window to make it active and fullscreen.

And yes, does anyone know when they will be able to independently prescribe genres for games that are in their personal library? Some games have incorrect genres.
That's a strange one. What if you try turning off Overlay? (maybe it's bugging out)

Also, concerning genres, you can try manually adding tags. Not ideal, but it does the job.

Overlay (Settings/Game features/in-game features/Overlay) is disabled and this does not affect this issue. Not all games have this problem, but half of my games do.

Things to try:

*set your display to 100% (Display Properties after right-clicking the desktop)

*disable extra monitors (Display Properties again)

*disable auto-hiding the taskbar

I've had the same issue happen to me two-three times, but it was random, and I don't know what may have caused it.
Happens to me on occasion. Just one of those things.

While some of the noted things to try might fix it; for me, I'd rather just click on the game window to bring it into focus than to make some of the suggested changes. I don't want to disable auto-hiding, etc. So, I live with it.

I can turn off automatic hiding of the taskbar (this is the only thing I have listed), but this solution is a compromise, I hope the developers will fix this bug .... And yet they will add the ability to manually edit the genre graph to any game)))

I agree with you, I like a clean desktop. So I'll try to disable hiding the taskbar, but in the end I will return this feature anyway.

Thank you all for trying to help and advise. Peace for everyone!

So, this temporary work-around worked? Glad to hear it!

Nope. Still, many games continue to run in an inactive window behind GOG Galaxy. I do not know what to do.

Sorry to hear that. I'm out of ideas. Maybe someone else can figure out what's causing it.
