Greetings! I was recently trying to clean up the hard drive of my laptop, on which I have installed a bunch of gog games, but I realized that I should probably just play them on my desktop and save the HDD space, so I uninstalled them (five or six). They all uninstalled fine, but the next time I start up the computer, it will not boot into windows 7 past the "starting" screen with the logo. This persists, until I have to use windows startup cleaner to restore the system to an earlier date, specifically before these games were uninstalled. The computer restarts normally at this point. Then I go and uninstall the same games, albeit after having to reinstall them to get a missing uninstall files back in the folder so that it will let me delete them, and once again, my computer won't boot back into windows past the start screen. After using restore again, windows is fine, but the games are back, and taking up hard drive space. Should I just delete them manually? Has anyone seen this odd occurrence before? Thank you!

Are you using Galaxy? I've not seen this issue before, but yeah, just delete them manually and you should be fine.

Wasn't there a Galaxy-specific bug that deleted everything in the entire filesystem when you uninstalled a game, or have I dreamt it?
No, there was a bug in Galaxy that deleted all games you installed with it when you want to uninstall it.

The bug that deleted the system drive when you tried to uninstall the game was in Pool of Radiance: Ruins of Myth Drannor.

I am not using Galaxy, I usually just install the games manually, so I use the usual uninstaller that comes with each game.

The bug was that if you told it you had installed a game in "C:\Games" instead of "C:\Games\Baldur's Gate", then uninstalled the game without keeping the saves, it would delete the installation directory in its entirety, aka the "C:\Games" instead of the "C:\Games\Baldur's Gate". This has been fixed for more than 6 months.

I see, thanks. I've never used Galaxy, so I remembered reading something about it here in the forums.
