Besides, it is not like we have a long wait ahead. Plus, there is no reason to pay ahead. Not even a pre-load.

I think the base game was $20 in the last sale which is less than 20 euros. (Honestly not sure how the pricing works in Europe for games) The collectors edition went down to $48. Sim games Im usually willing to pay a little more for since I have been knows to sink hundreds of hours into them, but I guess it depends on quality. I recently surpassed 200 hours on a game in that genre. Have you played this one? I second this. I don't even buy in the first few months anymore. Games are better an cheaper when they have been out for a while.

My rule is: support Egosoft. They ~never~ failed me in 20+ years. And _this_ time I preorder a DLC because they more then delivered with X4 _for me_. So please, don't get triggered by my pure act of joy that they release a new DLC. And don't make the mistake lecturing me about me not being anti-consumption (which I am). That's why I'm on GOG and that's why I never play EA games or the like. So just - please stop. There are shades of grey here. :)

Yup, yup. Egosoft's trust capital is solid gold. They remain one of the few developers whose first priority is making a good game that works. I pre-ordered today too and can't wait to haul some space-garbage around :)

And on the subject of pre-order or don't: do whatever you want. And I'll do the same.

I guess I will get this at some point after it has received some polish.

The 5.0 update will bring us changes also without the DLC.

this one is a buy for me.
