A shattered mind cuts deeper.

Sundered, a terrifying dash into the heart of darkness and insanity, is now available for pre-order, DRM-free on GOG.com with a 10% discount and the game's OST as pre-order bonuses.

Horrible things skitter and slither in the cavernous depths, waiting to swallow you whole or just suck out any remnants of your soul. The parts you haven't yet surrendered, anyway. Because when things get scary, you will be tempted to channel corrupted powers against the massive monstrosities standing in your way, at the cost of your humanity. Can you resist their dark embrace?

Sundered is scheduled for release on July 28.

EDIT: The Jotun: Valhalla Edition giveaway has now ended.

Fortuk: From what I've seen it's:
- When you die the enemies reset and you return to the starting point.
- New level layout gets generated at the start of a new playthrough. Part of it random, part of it hand placed. Doesn't change upon death.
- Abilities gained and environmental changes caused before a death (opening a gate, etc) are persistent and not lost.
- You buy your upgrades when you die with money - like Rogue Legacy.

So it has roguelike elements, but you're consistently getting stronger with each death instead of getting fully reset.
This looks playable to me, good to know. Thanks for taking the time to explain!
Looks very nice, but a bit too hectic... Not sure if the gameplay is for me. *shrug*

Thanks for Jotun. I actually ended up playing through the entire game today. A nice little diversion
Thanks for the free game!
A game in my wishlist (Jotun) is given away as a freebie?!? This... like never happens. "Muchos thankos", like the Mexicans say.

Not sure why I hadn't bought it before, I just didn't remember wanting it when it was on sale since I don't check my "GOG email" that often (I think it notifies if a wishlisted item is on sale).

It will take up roughly 4GB (3,95GB) of HDD space, even though the installer is only 1.5GB in size.

OdanUrr: I was going to write this game looks really pretty ('cause it does) and inquire if it was a platformer... then I saw that fatidic word, "Roguelike." What exactly are we talking about here? I have little interest in replaying the same game over and over again.

groze: Fortuk, five posts above yours, gave the most complete answer regarding the possible roguelike elements in Sundered. We don't have a lot to base our facts upon, right now, since the game only releases on the 28th, and we haven't played it, yet, but Fortuk's post seems to address all the roguelike aspects we know to be somewhat confirmed, at this time. So, to avoid repetition, I invite you to read the aforementioned post.

Unless a dev or someone at GOG who might be more in the know than us decides to directly respond to your question, which doesn't seem very likely.
Thanks for the reply! I checked on Steam to see if the devs talked about this and this is what I got:

Well it depends what you consider at rogue-like/rogue-lit. You do not restart the game from the beginning each time you die. It's similar to Diablo except that the moment you can spend your xp/skill point is when you go back to the skill tree (which is where you restart when dying). Part of the game is procedural but you are constantly moving forward, upgrading your character, gaining new abilities. There is no permadeath, everything you acquire/unlock in a life will be kept.
