20,000 pieces of loot under the sea.

Diluvion, an open-world action/RPG of free exploration, is now available for pre-order at 15% off.

Centuries ago, our great civilization got buried under tons of cold water. The survivors somehow persevered long enough to build a network of submerged cities, each with its own culture, religion, and way of life. As the captain of a humble submarine you are chosen by fate to go on a journey that might bring humanity's best-kept secret to the surface.
But there's a reason nobody managed to survive this mission before: The ocean is full of deep-sea horrors, unclaimed treasure, hidden societies, and uncharted places. To brave them all you'll need to spiff up your sub with upgrades and hire a skillful crew to help you navigate the many dangers lurking there. Face the challenges head-on with a formidable dreadnaught or swim the path of the silent hunter but no matter your approach, be mindful: the sea is dark and full of giant terrors.

Pre-order now to secure your access to a unique ship called The Deringer, as well as the Digital Captain's Journal for an in-depth look at the game's lore & mythology. You can also pick up the Fleet Edition Upgrade, which features a digital copy of the game's Soundtrack, a Digital Artbook and an exclusive playable sub, the Manta.

Pre-order Diluvion today and get ready for an underwater odys-sea full of heart-pounding combat, peculiar encounters, and terrible monsters, coming soon, DRM-free on GOG.com.

The 15% pre-order discount will be available until the game's expected release on February 2nd.

I would really like to know if there is a save system as well. I have limited gaming time and saving makes a huge difference. I hope it is more than another rogue-like game.
Sounds interesting, even if it does tickle one of my pet peeves by using 'innovative' in the description.
Still not doing the pre-ordering thing though.
Me want....

...more time to play stuff like this. If reviews look good, Diluvion may have to jump the backlog line.

Ironically, most actual roguelikes let you save & quit whenever and wherever you want -- they merely prevent save scumming.

It's time to made up a new name for this, calling it roguelike while it's nothing like rogue, it makes me sad. Lost all of its meaning.

There are several. "Roguelite" and "roguelike-like" are the ones that have caught on the most. I've also heard "RPM" (for "randomized permadeath machine"), and I think I like that one the most, for games whose only "roguelike elements" are permadeath and a reliance on procedurally-generated content.
EDIT: Added another set of quotation marks.

This looks amazing. Finally some Original Content in PC Gaming.
Wow I had never heard of this game, and it looks amazing - I'm extremely tempted by the pre-order now...
Interesting background music for the video, reminded me of Bastion's soundtrack.

It looks like Rebel Galaxy to me :D Even background music is very similar .
These 'subs' appear to move far too fluidly and quickly. Love the concept, [s]most probably a purchase[/s] but it looks like physics has taken a back-seat. Piqued as to how they'll manage 'sonar' as per the sonarist in the screenshots.

Maybe an option for aspects of 'semi-realism' is there, it is to be hoped. Anyway, looking grand BUT TOO SHORT.

Edit: Seems the whole shebang has a approximate playtime of between 8 to10 hours per run. A pity but for some that's too low a content volume even for the low-ish price.

Did it just go up in price for my region? Lame. Probably will buy on steam through Russia. Two times cheaper.
I was just hoping someone could clarify a couple of things for me before I commit to the pre-order:

It looks like it will be open world, but I just wanted to make sure. By all of the exploring it says you can do, it would seem that it is.

Second, if I pre-order and get the fleet upgrade, do I get both the Deringer and the Manta? Or do I just get the Manta? Again, if it is open world it would be great to have both if you're able to dock them at your home base it says you can make.

Thanks

SeduceMePlz: *sigh*

Can't checkout with both in the cart.

And it's about $2.50 more expensive on GOG than Steam.

Why can't GOG offer a simple Fleet Edition preorder like Steam?

Edit, to clarify the second problem: For some reason, GOG isn't offering the cheaper Fleet Edition preorder (all content as a single preorder) and is instead forcing customers who want everything to pay more to preorder the base game and Fleet Edition upgrade separately. Hopefully an honest mistake that will be corrected ASAP...

fables22: I did a little digging and here's an update: This was, indeed, a genuine error on our part - apologies for the inconvenience. We will be adding a series discount to lower the price for the base game and the Fleet Edition upgrade to match the Steam price ASAP (I will confirm once this has been done). Again, sorry about the mishap here - if any of you guys bought the series at the higher price, please let our support know and they will hook you up with a store content discount. Thanks!
Is it still on your plate? Cause in steam fleet edition is cheaper in full price than buying here base game with fleet upgrade with discount.
In my region only. Obviously :-)

anothername: Does it has a proper save game function? Save as in save & reload most any time I want and not stuff like only on exit if at all if nobody dies.
Hey Stubborn, I'm a beta tester for Diluvion and can confirm that the game does have a save & reload system. You save by visiting key locations, which are marked on your map as you find them and are surrounded by schools of green fish. So it's not 100% save any time you want, but it's not hard to get to a save spot when you want to, although sometimes you might get killed on your way back.

IFW: Is this a completely random rogue-like, or is it fully written/scripted?
Is this a grand adventure or more like a survival game?
What about saving at any time? You see some of us have families, so saving any time would be really appreciated... :)
Hey IFW, I'm a beta tester for Diluvion, and also have a kid who doesn't sleep much! You can't save at *any* time, but almost: You save by visiting key locations, which are marked on your map as you find them and are surrounded by schools of green fish. So it's not 100% save any time you want, but it's not hard to get to a save spot when you want to, although sometimes you might get killed on your way back.

AlienMind: The "FTL like" in the trailer has put me off.. Can you save and load normally in the game (between missions is OK)?

Also, after I wishlist it, it does not show up in my wishlist.
Hey AlienMind, I'm a beta tester for Diluvion- there is a save and load system in the game, which does work both within and between missions. You save by visiting key locations, which are marked on your map as you find them and are surrounded by schools of green fish. Many missions have multiple parts, and you can save throughout, so long as you make it back to a key location alive!
