Wow, that was a useful video.
I might be on board now, not day one though, mainly because i have a lot to play.

I'm afraid not.

IMO that will be quite shameful on THQ's part though if they release this on GOG with no Achievements for a top-dollar price of $59.99 USD.

I'll gladly pay a premium for a version of the game that isn't tarnished by gameplay-disruptive, immersion-breaking, how-to-play-dictating achievement systems.

This looks like such a cool world but I'm soooooo sick of these open world checklist games.

Open world checklist?
Pretty typical of THQ to overprice a game like that as no game is worth over 500-550 NOK. That's even higher than a PS game in many cases. In fact, too many are overestimating how much their game is worth.

They might have sold more if the pre-order price was lower, but then again, it is a THQ title... :)

Isn't that what these so-called "Achievements" are also... fake checklistings just to make the game longer?

Niggles: Open world checklist?
I don't really know how to define what I mean better than to just say open world checklist again. If you don't know what I mean, I envy you and your ability to better enjoy modern "open world RPGs."

Hello,

I don't know if you've got your answer elsewhere already, but the official FAQ (May 19 2021) says GoG will be getting achievements.

So according to an interview with Creative Director Stefan Ljungqvist the pre-order "Mercenary Class" incentive is just one of those pre-configured loadouts for lazy people.
Or, in other words, you won't be missing out on any skills or equipment the Mercenary Class just has unlocked/available to them from the start.

Remember, never pre-order and keep your expectations low.
Ouch, the initial reviews look devastating.
