What the fuck even is this. After all Disney killed Alien and Predator which I have been a fan of especially Predator. Hard pass. hope it loses more money. Just watch the original films.

Hot take - AvP was the only crossover that ever surpassed the originals. Especially when it comes to games. I generally despise crossovers, but this one case was the exception to the norm. Really sad everybody seems adamant about forcing them apart again.

Even hotter take - the Batman vs Predator comic is an even better crossover and the best thing in the entire Predator franchise.

If I was in charge, I would add a small nerdy asian hacking dragon main computers. Jackie Chan on glasses would be perfect for the role.

In regards to AvP it was NEVER going to please the avid fanbases. Alien fans would scream it's not Alien-y enough, Predator fans would scream it's not Predator-y enough, comic fans would scream it's not close enough to the crossover comics. And the collective fanbase would be so aware of the franchise lore they'd spot even a hint of a retcon or mistake, and skin the film alive for it.
For me the simple entertainment value of the AvP films were decent enough, as was Prey, and so was Romulus... even Covenant if I must admit it. I tried to watch all without expectation and taking to heart outside opinion. Are any of them as good as the originals? Hell no. Was it a story begging to be told? Again no. We all know what it was: simply making money from an established franchise - as obvious as the merchandising in kid's lunches and toyboxes.
I think sometimes we get bogged down in our fond memories of films past and we also often get too influenced by other people's opinions rather than objectively make our own mind up. Movie-making these days sucks hard, I agree. Does any of these products we're offered hold value in a watch? Well, yeah I think they do. But I try to watch the product first and then make a decision about it sucking or not. I don't always succeed though - some products just smell bad from conception through to release. Eventually I'll try to watch them though. Even the "bad" ones that according to the vaunted Internet no-one likes.
So I'll watch this if I can. I won't go to any great effort nor expense to do so though. But if its there, I'll give it a shot.

I always thought the first AvP movie is underrated. It's my third favourite film in both franchises. Sure, it's not an all time great, and obviously there wasn't the money and/or the will from the studio to make a bigger, bolder space sci-fi like in the comic, but I still think it's a fun, well made action movie and delivers on the premise reasonably well.

Oh, yeah, this was a thing.
Meh. Not nearly as bad as The Predator or Prey were, so I guess we cleared that bar, burried so deep as it was that even the dwarves of Moria wouldn't find it, but overall it's a huge waste of potential. The first segment was by far the best, while the third one had possibly the most interesting premise but I felt like it did very little with it. The way they connect it all at the end is super predictable and gets really goofy. I feel like as a series of separate, self contained shorts it would have been stronger. It doesn't help that I'm really not a fan of this choppy "missing frames" style of animation. I don't know if it's just a fad or some cost cutting thing, but it seriously ruins what could have been great action.
