I really like the Laymen Gaming guys; but that is hilarious. Stuff previously being Steam exclusives now becoming Epic exclusives and now are recognized as exclusives with an outrage...

*facepalm*

If EA and Ubisoft require their launchers for their games, i don't see a big difference, other than where you buy the game (keys).

But as i'm likely going to keep on a buying freeze for games, this doesn't really affect me any.
Given Epic Store doesn't have a store/account based DRM, it will be interesting to see if or how games like WWZ use DRM.
Good example of hypocrisy. If someone does something and it is regarded as bad while if somebody else does it, it's okay.

Exactly this. People are the people's worst enemy, it works on so many layers.

Epic doesn't provide the user any .exe installer which can also function as a game's backup copy, does it? If it doesn't, then it has de facto store/account based DRM.
'We don't want to be forced onto this platform.'

Whoosh.

I do not consider the LG guys hypocrites. That situation is kind of. Its the irony that they so deep into Steam that they just not recognize that the Epic store and Steam are the same thing with steam having an about 2 decades head-start in getting PC stuff exclusive. It this sickening PC games = always Steam view which was born out of that and to which they fell prey to in their report.
Maybe I'm just voicing a common opinion on GOG, but anyone can do any amount of "exclusives" on whatever platform, I really won't be interested as long as they use DRM.

Now if it's a new DRM-free platform with offline installers that comes with exclusives, I won't mind. They can "lock me up" on their platform for the 30 seconds it takes me to start the download.

Exactly.
