Hello! I have the following config: win10home64bit/ryzen1600x/gtx1080 and not able to launch the game even using dgVoodoo (tried versions 2.52 - 2.55.4), used compatibility mode (winxp sp3), admin privileges for popTB.exe and got nothing. Game process launches, but i see only the process row in task manager and game window even does not appear.

For dgVoodoo i copied files from MS folder to main folder of clean Pop3 installation, also copied dgVoodooCpl.exe to same location, tried to set gtx1080 adapter and dx10/10.1/11 feature levels on general tab, geforce 4800/dgVoodoo cards on DirectX tab with various of VRAM values. Windowed mode does not help. What i'm doing wrong? Is there any way to achieve game launched for my configuration?

P.S. No error windows, it just not launch.
Did you install DX 9 and did you activate Direct Play in Windows?

DirectPlay was already enabled for legacy components. Same result.
Try renaming atiumdag.dll in the populous folder to something else and see if that works.

Renamed. No changes.
Did you connect your dgvodoo to D3DPopTB.exe?
You probably didn't use the shortcuts to connect it since when i tried to play the software version gog kinda broke the shortcut on first try so i had end the task retry and the game would run. But i usually just directly go to the exe in the populous folder instead of the shortcuts and it works on first try.
Though i am forced to use the software version instead of 3d since the 3d one has flickering graphics.
Edit: i actually have no idea how dgvodoo works. Also i really don't see how you could use compability mode on that exe since mine always resets to windows 95 compability.

Also check this link maybe some fixes could help you there:

I pressed button './' in dgVoodooCpl, if you mean that. Thanks for link, i'll read it later.
Found actual solution:

I disabled DEP for all programs except windows main programs and services. I tried to disable DEP only for Populous, but after restart, i was able to launch game once, after that windows deletes DEP rule (strange behavior, can't understand why it do so) and i need to disable DEP once again. Next problem i suffered - lags and random crashes, trying to solve this, i'll write later about results.

P.S. If some one have actual solution for game lag, please leave it here.
