Yea, I very much share that sentiment. Contrary to what some say in this thread, I definitely had troubles with Gemini Rue and Monkey Island. Ultimately, I do want to like adventure/point-and-click games, but often find it frustrating when you feel you got a good solution, but it's not the one permitted by the game.

Anyhow, I only had to look up like one or two things for Grim Fandango, which is overall great to begin with.

Another game not mentioned so far that is great is Stasis. Stellar horror atmosphere and while they got another one for free on GOG, Cayne, I do think Stasis is the better game.

Samarost 3 and Oxenfree are also great and doable.

I somewhat liked Fahrenheit: Indigo prophecy, although it is rather obscure towards the end, but the controls are atrocious. It has some sort of QTE system, where you have to hit the right input incredibly quick, but are not penalized for hitting the wrong button, so for many tough scenes I ended up just hammering just about all buttons in quick succession.

Life is Strange + Prequel also give you virtually no chance to get stuck but are great.

The game "There is No Game" is just stellar writing, but had me look up one or two things.

Another often overlooked game is The Sexy Brutale. It is a bit on the easy side, but the groundhog mechanic is great and it's just charming in style.

r8V9b1X3u9VcA12p: I finished "My Brother Rabbit" ALONE WITHOUT HELP AT ALL. I was on the border of hysteria, like what's happening, is it really me who achieved it? :-p

Needs decent observation and some pondering for light puzzles to access things, but totally feasable and very few frustrations.

By the way, it's a modest game but cute and funny animations, nice music and a bittersweet story mixing brilliantly fantasy and reality seen by children, I enjoyed it not only for finishing it.

zlaywal: Yes, I do wish they make more "My Brother Rabbit" like game, rather than their usual formula of Heroine+Supernatural stuff.

The closest thing to that is "Tiny Bang Story".
OK, I have it already, I'll play it next.
