For those of us who don't want Galaxy the re-vamped Library is a PITA. Gone are the clearly identifiable 'Download' buttons, instead we have to navigate a menu and then hunt for the hotlinks we need.

Galaxy may be great for those looking for a Steam-like social media web site where you can play games while chatting, many of us I suspect aren't and GoG has taken a serious turn for the worse in the 'ease of use' stakes.

The old Downloader's "Updated Games" link now permanently leads to a non-existent page (error 404) so that avenue is no longer available for simp'e downloads either.
Another big problem with the new page for the Downloader links is that you can only download all extras at once and not choose which one you really want. So quite often you can either download the same content in various editions (eg. manuals in several languages or soundtracks in MP3 and FLAC) or you have to download them using your browser and copy the content to the right directory afterwards. That's not really user-friendly.

Yup this needs to happen. Downloader says 5 updates and leads to 404. Not cool. I don't want another steam on my hands.
I don't like how they bunched up the extras into a single download button. I mean all languages are in there as well.

I think it's a bit underhanded to do this in order to discourage people from using it. Why can't we just have all these different types of download options for those who want to use it differently?

What? What are you saying. Sure you want Steam. It's not like if you wanted Steam you'd be on their website. No, no. Everyone wants Steam and Steam-like stuff. And if they don't, we'll make everything else so inconvenient they will learn to want it. Oh, I can smell the money already.

What? What do you mean accounts are getting hijacked? Ah, no one cares. Let's deal with important issues first. How about some achievements?

It seems this last years have been hard for GOG, things began to get rather ugly since the day Nordic left for a long while, or maybe since Fall Out series was retired.
So, I just finished downloading 3 games plus a freebie .. what a PITA!

The links that are there no longer trigger the GOG Downloader, they're simply URLs so my browser dutifully dropped them into my 'download' folder. I then spent a delightful several minutes picking out the files I'd just downloaded from the download list and doing what the GOG Downloader used to do for me: creating a folder for each game and putting all the files for that game into it.

I seriously question my continued use of GOG, the one thing it had over Steam was a SIMPLE download mechanism THAT WORKED. The advantage has vanished, so GOG has little left to entice me to choose it over Steam in the case where the a game is available on both.

I repeat my OP: I DON'T ANT GALAXY but if you force it on me GOG I'll go to Steam because it's a far more polished social-media-with-games systems than GOG.

You can "instruct" your browser to "drop" them in the folder of your choosing ... hope you know that.
I don't like progress! Why must I shower, mother? A mixture of our own faeces and skin oil have done our complexion wonders for millennia!

You can still use the GoG Downloader, just go to your account, click on the game then click on "MORE" there you will find "GOG Downloader links". That way the download will happen through the downloader. My problem is that i get chunk error every 10 minutes while I'm downloading.

Still we should see more GOG Downloader support. I mean, we should be able to toggle between standard links and GOG downloader ones. I am not planing to use GOG Galaxy.

I am not one of those who is going to lose it and say "I am moving to Steam" because honestly that paid mods incident proved they don't care about the customer that much, and they use DRM. But certainly if this trend continues I will purchase less and less, and certainly I might not purchase all those games I pirated in the past because I knew no other way (They are not available on GOG as of now by the way)
agree. until galaxy beta is no longer beta, the gog downloaders links should stay where they are, and allow for downloading of specific extras instead of all the extras at once.

e.g. i for one do not want to download the FLAC soundtracks if the MP3 versions are of a reasonable quality. FLACs are meant for archiving anyway.
