How do I play my games offline? Years ago there was an app for downloading my games for offline play. I have no interest in playing on line as a result I keep buying games and never playing them because I do not want to play online. So why not make it easier for me to download the games I have paid for to offline?

PLenty of people post about this daily, its not going to happen, Galaxy is the new and only boy in town here. You can still get offline installers, although they are pretty naff, tend to not be up to date, nor come with changelog/old versions, and may not contain all the content which is locked behind online gating. But you can find these if you goto the website, hover on your nickname, select games, then find the game, and expand the almost hidden offline installers section. Then download the exe and possible bin files completely to one folder and run the exe to install.

Thank you I thought that was the case but had hoped for more. I will no longer be purchasing games on gog. I own over 200 and have played only a few because of gog galaxy. I own many of these games in different formats I will need to search for the disks and try to update those. I appreciate your help.

Yep, I was lucky and disc imaged all my old stuff. GOG downloader is gone completely, I know that was popular. You can still download through browser though, that works fine.

Please ignore nightcraw1er, GOG games still work offline absolutely fine. If you can be more detailed about the problem you're having then I might be able to help.

OP is complaining that he wants an easy way to download all of his game en masse, yet without using Galaxy.

AFAIK, currently there is no good way to do that. Therefore, nightcraw1er's point about that is legit.

The question was about downloading offline installers. Galaxy does that. The OP didn't say they wanted to avoid Galaxy at all costs, just that they wanted to play offline.

You can install games through Galaxy and then play them without Galaxy. You can also use Galaxy as a downloader for offline installers, uninstall Galaxy and install the games.

Again, the OP did not say "I don't want to use Galaxy", they said "How do I play my games offline?". nightcraw1er's answer is at best a partial answer and at worst a deliberately misleading answer motivated by their strong hatred of Galaxy. nightcraw1er makes a point of raging against Galaxy in many threads where it isn't even relevant.

EDIT: There are also unofficial mass-downloaders like gogrepo if you are downloading in order to archive.

Do they really, so there is no issues with online gating/online? There isnt a two tier customer base on here? The website isnt always excluded from updates in favour of galaxy? Really some people must be blind as anything or simply too blinded by their own worship of gog and the all encompassing client world to see it.

As for pointing this out in every thread, yes, Galaxy has turned this site into nothing more than a pale imitaion of steam (without the positives of steam), so hipsters can say they dont use steam. All of the issues raised across many threads by many different people including boycotts, and lots of the old userbase who have now left, are still being ignored in favour of your "galaxy is everything, there is no issues". None of the points I made are misleading or innacurate, gog downloader - this is the app he mentioned in the first post, galaxy has now taken that over. He can play a fair proportion of his games offline, but an increasing amount are coming on with online only, online gated, or other features that cannot be accessed offline. And yes, as far as the opionion goes, I agree, there is very littel if any reason to shop here anymore.

Gogs own news thread on the fact that they do not consider any online part against their policies, effectively anything goes except denuvo:

That's a complete strawman. The OP asked how to download offline installers and I told them, because your answer was completely inadequate and misrepresented the available options.

Thank you for your input. You're again arguing against a point I'm not trying to make.

Aside from Galaxy, which can also download Offline Installers via the Extras section, there are a few 3rd party programs which use the GOG SDK.

Three of the downloaders work in Linux, the first two of those also on Windows.

gogcli.exe

gogrepo.py

lgogdownloader

All are command-line usage, though I have created GUIs for the two Windows downloaders, which means no scripting required and usage is via mouse clicks etc.

GOGcli GUI

GOGRepo GUI

So they get close to what the old GOG Downloader used to do, in fact they offer more features, including more control over queuing. However, they don't support modifying download speed or resume. Aside from that they work well enough, certainly if you have a good connection to GOG servers.

By preference I always use GOGcli GUI now with gogcli.exe, as I don't like bloated Galaxy at all.
