Hi,

I am having graphic issues with running the game with WINE and if anyone could help it would be trimendous help!

At first I couldn't play at all as when I stated the game I would see the start-up company logos, etc and as soon as main menu loaded it would be normal for a fraction of a second and then become a complete mess with squares and vertical and horizontal lines. Music would be fine and everything would be responsive, just you couldn't really see anything normal.

After a lot of poking around in forums I found a possible solution. Adding a line to the game.ini file:

setf ~cl_menu3d 0

And voila! Game loaded normally, menu started, chose character , started new game, etc.... I was happy, but for two minutes only... As soon as I passed the initial scene and moved to the next scene (loading area map, etc) The exact same jacked up graphics issue came again. So i could only run the game for the introductory part basically and as soon as I moved to the next scene - boom! Back with the same issue the script above solved.

I think it has to do sth with the 3d functionality or sth. If that line that I added to the ini file helped run everything smoothly for the beginning I don't see a reason why something similar shouldn't solve the entire issue. Just don't understand much of these commands. The issue seems to be the same or at least it looks that way.

Any help would be appreciated!

I am running on MacBook Pro with 13.3" Retina, core i5, 8bg ram, iris 4000 graphics

Don't know so much about wine, but you could check this:

https://appdb.winehq.org/objectManager.php?sClass=version&iId=19054

Native D3D is required, it is installed automatically with the game.
Also, the game crashes on location loading with builtin msvcrt.dll, so I installed vcrun60 via winetricks. together with changing the resolution, have seen a few errors regarding this, maybe it will help

Thank you so much for directing me to this, but I really don't understand what they mean there :(

I haven't played so much around with wine, just using my little bit of knowledge I have of it.
I was kind of hoping you might know what it means ;)

http://www.wine-reviews.net/2010/01/winetricks-script-for-linux-bsd-solaris.html

That was what I found for it. So by the sound of it you use this script to install the visual basics dll's, but I am only guessing here, sorry.

If would really suggest you ask in the English main forum (but do state that you did ask first in this game forum ;) ).
Not every wine/linux user is checking in the sub forums.

By your description it sounds it is changing the graphics again and not taking the change into account, but again just guessing.

Sorry that I couldn't help you further.

I remember I tried running this a while ago but gave up. I had no problem running KB: The Legend but for some reason couldn't get this to work.

Good Luck!!
