Hi all! So I got a Rog Ally yesterday and I'm absolutely loving it. I tried the Legion Go before this but found it too big and bit too heavy. Rog Ally feels so much more comfortable in my hands and the speakers are fantastic. I've got steam downloaded along with Fog Galaxy. I would be using mainly for emulation and old games and the first game I wanted to try yesterday was XIII. I absolutely loved it when I first played for years ago so was a bit excited to try on my new Rog Ally however.....it doesn't have native controller support so none of the controls work. I tried to change a few things but I can't seem to get the controls on the Ally recognised.

Is there a fix for this? Is this a common problem with a lot of the old games on here?

Well, if the game has no controller support...what were you expecting?

A work around? A mod or something to add the option un natively since you can do so muc with computers.

Maybe try this:

But no guarantees.

This question would be better directed at the ROG ally customer service/support.

It should have something to allow you to map keyboard commands but asking there support would be a better option.
Try adding the game to Steam and using Steam Input, which allows you to map KB+M inputs to controller ones.

Heck NO! That requires Steam to run!

Xpadder works. Try that or Joy2Key instead, that does the same service without installiung Valveware.

If the problem is that the game only supports older standards like DirecInput and the Ally or Pad doesn't, there are wrappers like XInputPlus or Xidi or Xpadder

Edit: But note that playing a game that was designed for Mouse and Keyboard with a gamepad will never work well.
However, most shooters were also released on console and DO have gamepad support, just in some cases for old standards.

Is still probably the easiest and most elegant solution, since KillDrill alrady have Steam instaled.

Does the Asus Ally have touchscreen? If yes, that might work for some games that require less precision.
The Deck has a big advantage there with the trackpads.
Why not get an 8bitdo controller and switch into a compatible mode?

Because he's playing on a handheld and would like to keep his hands on the handheld he bought for playing games with it.
SMX or 8BitDo are both very good when it comes to compatibility, but the whole point of a handheld is NOT using a second gamepad.

bit late.. i guess
you can play the game in desktop mode, you will have to bind keys to the controller and then bind those keys to ingame actions or the other way around, for mouse look you could enable gyro.. if controller doesnt have enough buttons to cover all critical key bindings, you could define macros with back paddles on the ally.. above options are available in armory crate, highlight the game in AC and press X
