I have developed an indie game, that i plan on releasing to the public. On steam it costs 100 dollars, I however don't have that. And I'm still not sure on the pricing for indie releases on here. I have however sent an email form to GOG Submission game support button. My question is, since this gaming publisher/platform has all high quality titles(compared to steam in my opinion).

Also, since my indie title will be heavily modifiable(Damn near revolves around it(NEAR)), will GOG have a file platform? Like steam has their workshop? because that would be nifty.

Edit:

This questioning was a bit vague. heh. The question is this, Would a modifiable game, sound nice and simple to do (And keep your attention),,because this is DRM free it would need to be an external site., as well as on GOG, which has no mod downloading base.

Tangyboxhead: what do you all expect in an indie game?
I'm sorry, but that's such a ridiculously broad question that it's impossible to answer. Indie games are not a genre, but a description of the circumstances of the games' creation. You might as well ask "What do you all expect in a game from Europe?"

I think I can safely say that's a "no".

Edit:
But it's great that you've developed a game. Congratulations :-)

Great too that you're thinking about releasing it on GOG. Have you considered the Humble Store as well? Not as opposed to GOG, but in addition to GOG.

Well to elaborate, I mean such as quality. Does eveything need to be all fancy or can it be simple smooth gameplay?

Also, I am not sure what the humble store is, but does it have to do with the "Humble bundle"?

Perhaps instead of us telling you what we expect from a game, you could decribe your game in terms of genre, gameplay, graphics, sound, etc.

Yes, it does indeed, but you don't have to participate in one of their bundles in order to sell your game on their store front.
May I suggest looking into itch.io (https://itch.io/) and Desura (http://www.desura.com/)?
Oh hey, an indie game developer that has never heard of the Humble store and wants to know what gamers want without having any concepts or details.

Sounds promising.

Ik ik, I have been to the humble store myself with some titles, My family actualy bought a couple there. But i havent been there in a year or so, so I forgot what the store was. Lol
I'm an idiot (yeah we know) but what do you mean it's $100 on Steam? You mean if you are on Steam and want to buy it, it's going to cost $100?

I am an indie(well soon to be, I need to try t orelease). To get your(or mine) game onto steam as a first time indie dev, you must go through greenlight. To go onto greenlight you need to pay 100 dollars(To stop trollers.)

Okay thanks. Like I said, I only know playing them, not designing and distributing. :P

By the way, those 100 dollars (which goes to charity, by the way) is not for getting on Steam, but getting on Greenlight. Being in Greenlight is not a guarantee to be on Steam, it all depends on community vites.

Yes, I know this, as I follow steam greenlight daily. And I know its not insta-on, or else toilet paper simulator and black screen simulator would be on steam, haha.
I had a plan, but I found GOG this morning, and it seems rather fun. i have had fun with the free to paly games, i might buy some tommorow.
