Has this game any sort of single player campaign?

While I like PA I do not support Uber's decision to repack the game and sell it as standalone addon with avery few units added and with content that was supposed to be in vanilla PA game. Very dissapointed. Wish I could unvote this game from the wishlist.

Not really, but it got the so called "galactic war" where you collect several techs in follow up AI Skirmish Levels which are randomly generated/picked...
Focus clearly is on Lan and Online Multiplayer! How about no? As they already stated, experimental units were never a goal for the vanilla game and everything else has already been achieved in the base game. And the repackage is only at 15$ for folks who already bought the vanilla game---which is a total fair for an addon!
And there is no way to call more than twenty new units "a very few"...

Well, nice joke; but one might take it serious and believe that the base game would be still full of bugs and bad performance...
...like it really was (well, although the issues were overrated by many) at launch!
So far the worst thing I found was one clipping issue, everything else seems to be implemented nice and the added variance of units is a pure dream---but if you will never ever be convinced by the words of an amateur, go check out that article at exodus:

Explains all the new units and features and so on, shows shots of them (so no jokes about "will there be shoebox units like in Alpha?", please...) as well and is featuring the good design you´d just expect from professionals like Exodus!

The game has inherent drm issue since it automatically starts in online mode by default. Until Uber releases a game version for gog that starts in an offline mode I don't see how this game can come here.

You are not well informed...

Nope, the game starts automatically with an online mode unless you change the settings for server to local server on. Otherweise the game even when you press on play offline connects to Uber servers. This is what I was talking about.

Aaah, you mean that if you go online, you are using online servers to host your game, unless you got a PC that is considered being powerful enough to host a game on your own machine! (course the standard is---for obvious reasons---auto) Which doesn´t apply to many systems, as you need ~16 GiB Memory and a fast INET-connection to be selected for this to don´t turn down the other ONLINE users playing with you.
And no, the game doesn´t connect to Uber Servers if you go offline---how could it anyways with no freaking INET-connection?! :D If you are NOT offline for real and tell offline anyways they do of course check for updates AND, if you don´t have the required system power will still try to host the game online---this really might be somehow counter-intuitive, but going offline while beeing online isn´t that much of a standard situation, is it?

I was talking that if you are connected to the internet which more or less everybody is more or less all the time now. You very well know that the game automatically connects to the company servers if a pc has an active connection to the internet. I asked on Uber forums about that half a year ago and they said basically since this is a browser game it automatically connects to the servers and only later on after the settings option with local server on has been addded (after considerate gamer pressure) it is possible only manually to change that the game does not make connection to the Uber servers. It's a multiplayer oriented game afterall. That's is all. This is not Steam or some other drm site where such things are taken lightly.

The addition of OfflineServers was delivering the kickstarter promise of DRMfreeness. If they hadn´t put that one in, I would have been shitstorming like there is no tomorrow. Can´t help that many wouldn´t have the PC to play EVERY single map from the selections with offline servers enable---a good reason for setting offline servers to "Auto" per default! And no, DRM-free and connecting to some server if you got INET without doing something DRM-related got nothing to do with each other BY DEFINITION.

Let´s just invent some stupid example...
...a single player game that connects at startup to check for updates! Might not be clever if you´re running galaxy anyways, but that´s certainly no DRM. And whuups, there isn´t only one, there are SEVERAL games with such a behavoiur on GOG: The Telltale adventures. But would you call them beeing NOT DRM-free?

And what the hell should your last passage mean, I´m totally commited to DRM-freeness, the only game I own that is not DRM-free is StarCitizen and with that one it´s exactly the same thing as with PA: Once SQ42 is finshed, that part has to become DRM-free like promised and WILL become DRM-free like promised.

Radon though I respect your opinion I do not share it and realistically all the games on gog start automatically in offline mode without any server connections being done. So for me this is simple. When Uber patches the game with actual offline mode I will have no oppositiion against it. And with this I conclude our disscussion.
