"New Romance: The Lady of Pain"

Unless either a) I misunderstand what this means or b) everything I know about The Lady of Pain is wrong, this is bloody moronic. Like giving the 2001 Monolith a romantic subplot.

You misunderstood. It is a joke piece. It was ripping on beamdog, how bad they are and how they are incompetent no talent morons who ruin everything they touch.

It is like this Star Wars Force Awakens Special George Lucas Edition.

It is like this
Well, if that's the case, I could make up some silly fake changelog entries, such as:

* New mandatory insta-fail stealth mission. At some point in the game, you must sneak around in order to progress; if you fail, you are thrown out of the area. Being a thief and using thief skills such as hiding in shadows will not help (the guards can see you even if you're hidden), nor will invisibility (if it's in the game) help.

* New mandatory QTE sequence. At some point, you are given a few icons, which are identical except for color, and the name of a color; you must click the correct icon to proceed. The icons are ordered randomly each time, so you can't just memorize the positions. No allowance given for color blind players.

* New scene where you are given spoken directions and have to follow them. These directions are randomized each time, and there are no subtitles or other text, making this part impossible for players who can't hear or who play with the sound off. Even worse, the voice acting in this part is atrocious to the part of being unintelligible to many players.

* Single player removed; this version is multiplayer only.

* New, unskippable load screens added; every time you switch areas, you will be treated to a 2 minute loading screen that can't be skipped, regardless of the speed of your hard drive. (Note that this is the opposite of what Beamdog did to the other EE games.)

* Save/load removed; the game must be completer in one sitting. If the game receives no input for 5 minutes, it will forcibly quit.

This is fun! (In case you can't tell, this is not a real changelog, and is intended to be a joke.)

You also seemed to miss the joke(s).

Your changes are random and not game specific. The reason this one made others laugh and confused Breja, is because it took the specifics of Planescape and combined it with beamdog's history.

trallyus: If you bought the original Baldur's Gate and Baldur's Gate 2 as well as Icewind Dale on Gog, the originals are still in your collection and downloadable.

If you are worried about losing access to the original Planescape Torment , and do not own it yet, now is the time to buy it as once bought the titles are not taken from you even if Gog loses its rights to sell the game.

I worried about losing games when the original fallout series had this happen but still have those original games I bought now showing up as fallout classic and Gog thinking I do not own Fallout due to that time it happened.

I believe Gog's policy is once you buy a game it's yours to keep whether they stop selling it or not so if you have the original Planescape Torment , you won't lose it.

Even Darksiders Warmastered Edition has a legacy edition too that is for people that do not like the warmastered edition.

Gog does pretty well in making sure no one loses access to games they bought in the past when stuff like this happens so there should be no worry about losing the original if you already own it.

If you are on the fence about getting the original now is the time to do it as the Enhanced Edition of Planescape Torment does not come out until April 11th.
The original Planescape Torment will be included as a bonus with a purchase of PT:EE.

Yep , DeMignon already made sure I knew that as I could have swore in the past they did it differently. Appreciate you and him pointing that out as like I said I previously missed that news and saw all the enhanced editions Beamdog has the originals as well after looking at my other games they put out.
Hello

I've a quick question, I wasnt sure if open a new thread or just using this one...
Planescape Torment Enhanced Edition, is there a native Linux version or wine-only?
For many people, using wine counts as Linux support - personally I dont think so myself -
so I'd like to know if Planescape is running natively as IWD:EE or BG:EE(?) does?

If not, why would they not just did a Linux build, any reason for this?

Therion.719: ...Planescape Torment Enhanced Edition, is there a native Linux version or wine-only?...
It's a Linux build, whereas the original PST, which now comes as bonus included in the Enhanced Edition is a wine port.
