kaboro: Define plagiarized, very ambiguous term nowadays, when songs are simply taken, remixed and re-released by different artists as their own, and its perfectly legal somehow.
Anyway for the lulz, check the begining of the Matrix theme and Edward Elgar enigma variations.
You would be surprised how much modern inspiration is drawn from classical music....i prefer to call it inspiration not plagiarism :P
Plagiarism is basically taking somebody else's ideas without permission or credit. The main reason it seems so much more common now is that it's easier to find folks doing it.

In some cases, nobody would notice without the use of computer programs, Men at Work got nailed via computer program and I doubt most people would notice, even after it being pointed out.

kohlrak: I could be wrong, but i do believe this major spoiler has the same melody.

Deadmarye: It does sound similar. It's brief though, reminds me of this.
Got me.

That said, everyone's saying it's "the peacewalker theme" which shares the same melody.
This is one of my personal favourites. I'm not sure if this was originally intended to be a tribute to the classic tune from Mega Man 2, or a blatant rip off, but any kid who grew up in Canada during the early to mid 90's knew about Video and Arcade Top Ten. Needless to say the theme song from this classic show appears to be taken from Mega Man 2.

This one suffers from the infernal question of how many notes have to be the same until it's a ripoff.

But then there's "The Crazy Frog Song," and there's also the fact that everyone these days remakes, anyway, so i just wonder what it even matters, anymore.

I'm interested in true origins of Yesterday by Beatles.
We're running out of music.

I did see one a while back. It was maybe Kelly Clarkson and Beyonce or something like that. It was a matter of the two artists having the same song-maker (I don't know the technical term). The ladies wrote a different lyric to the same beat-and-chords, but the digital instruments were different.
I heard the guy who did the music for Diablo was suing the guy who did the music for Torchlight over Copyright Infringement. :D

He has hired the same lawyer who, and this actually happened, tried to sue John Fogerty over Copyright, stating that Fogerty's song "Old Man In The Road" was a rip off of "Run Through the Jungle".
John Fogerty, lead singer of Creedance Clearwater Revival (CCR) apparently plagiarized his own voice and melodies he himself wrote when singing in his solo career.

Ummmm, *ahem* see above.

Yeah, I didn't read that far. AND I explained it further for people who may not know why that's a big deal though since the way you wrote it, any non-fan won't understand why it's funny that he got sued.

Woah, just looked it up. That was a hell of a ride.
Here's another classic example of plagiarization.

Apparently The Beach Boys ripped off Chuck Berry.

Zelda's fairy fountain theme sounds rather similar to a motif by Paul Lincke in his "Glühwürmchen Idyll".

Just sayin', no allegations. ;)

Oh, and then there's the really, really curious case of that one really characteristic motif that's in Anachronox, Heroes of Might & Magic IV and Costume quest 2:
