Geralt_of_Rivia: First and foremost, happy belated birthday!

I'd like to be in for Battletech but I have to confess that I completely failed your challenge. Not only did I start to skip tracks and switch albums I didn't find a single album that I could listen to in its entirety in your entire list. Some tracks even made me feel as if my ears are gong to start bleeding.

I found that rather strange since I have always considered myself having a very broad range when it comes to musical taste, since I listen to 70s and 80s pop, synthesizer, chiptunes, soundtracks (movies as well as games), instrumental music, meditation music, sometimes even a little bit of classical music and musicals.

To make up for my lack of review I can choose some more albums and send them to you via chat if that is ok with you.
if you want to add an album you can send it to me in chat

5 out a 5. Will listen again ;)
*bump*

c'mon people, surely there's more interest in listening to music, and/or winning a game?!
This remind me of the time I went to the shop to buy something to hear, grabed quite a few albuns by the cover only, with mixed results. One of those albuns were Mezzanine by Massive Attack, I hate it at the time. It was not after a few years I started to really enjoy the disc.
It was a big deal to buy a disc and actually was a cool time, had to ride 50Km to have a chance to hear any disc before buying. The shop sometimes had live music and we stay there for a couple of hours. Funny thing is that I actually listened to some unknown artists that ended being "famous" some years later :D

Soooo, new albuns added huh...
The one added by aCyborg is really not my cup of tea, only listened 3 songs. The cover photo is cool!
BenKii's Nº 11 is nice, sound 80's rock but not as most bands. It was not a disc I would pick-up by the cover only.
12th on the list, by Geralt_of_Rivia is one album I actually had listen before, I believe was in a radio show. With the right mood, this could be the perfect abum to relax or study.

Have to agree with BenKii, the lucky number is great!!! The cover, name, theme and sound fits perfectly... Thanks for the share Geralt_of_Rivia
Some interesting stuff on the comment section of youtube.

BTW, I didn't mention I was in for the game because I'm not in, but great iniciative! take a +1

I'm glad you two liked it. If you are looking for more from the same artist search for him on Bandcamp.

Clairsentient: I'm feeling adventurous and I want to win, so I tried album number 3.

The first song immediately reminds me of BABYMETAL. The song moves from metalcore intro to pop-punk-like verse, then the chorus sounds like bubblegum pop. And the second song feels like nu-metal with pop-rock.
Even though the album duration is only 35 minutes it's also varied, it doesn't rely on uniform tricks in each song. For example, the third and fourth songs are two industrial metals with strong nuances of NINE INCH NAILS to Kanye West on the album 'Yeezus'. The next song still hasn't moved from industrial metal, but the rhythm pattern is more close to RAMMSTEIN. And the male backing vocal at a glance similar to Brian Warner.
The sixth song is a distortion-free dream pop song but the lyrics remain dark.
The last four songs in this album contain songs that are increasingly daring to explore, seventh song has a thick influence from Eurobeat, ending with high pitch screaming which immediately continues without a break to the heaviest song on the album "Bite Your Teeth" with riffs and grooves as heavy as GOJIRA.
The ninth and tenth songs are my favorite, a ballad which started slowly accompanied by a serene guitar but then slowly transitioned into a prog song.

Overall, I feel the album is too short but pretty good, it is the clash between metal and pop music.

Oh and happy belated birthday.
Random picker selected Clairsentient so I will be contacting you with the code to battletech mercenary collection. Congratulations to Clairsentient and thanks to everyone who participated.

Also, here are some fun facts about the albums that were mentioned here.

Poppy, the artist who made album number 3, started out as a weird youtube channel. IMHO one of the most hilariously brilliant things to have ever appeared on youtube :D Also people found her scary :D https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=fpCXxqiTjqE

Piotr Połoz, who made number 6, also made some music for Cyberpunk 2077, mainly this tune https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=PUnr5ocuSr0 that got well known thanks to this funny bit https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=7QdHdOuqKCo

When recording album number 4, Jaco Pastorius wanted that none of the musicians hear other player's parts when recording the first track. That's how he got something super crazy and he even made it an opening track of the record even though the record company was absolutely freaking out and wanted literally any other track to be on the first place instead, fearing the record won't sell and they couldn't even put it on the radio + they gave him like 400000 dollars to record it. Also Jaco Pastorius was sort of a hothead and he died after getting beat up in a bar fight.

Summertime from album number 5 was the band's most played song and it was about dating services being weird, rather than being a simple lovesong like it might seem lol :D

Album number 2 has no actual lyrics. All the vocals are just vocables that sound right for the music, like gaelic mouth singing or lilting. Even the parts that are actual words are there more because of how they sound or what "mood" they set rather than being there the same way as regular songs' lyrics. Also, that didn't stop people on the internet from making up their own "lyrics" from those songs, so that's what you get when you google something like "heaven or las vegas lyrics" lol :D

Congrats to the winner, Clairsentient! :D

Much thanks to our our host XYCat for an inventive giveaway idea. Wish there were a few more participants to review more albums, but it was still a fun giveaway. :)
