I'm trying to buy Warcraft II and have entered my card details correctly at checkout (though I did spend 30 mins trying to guess my CVV2 number on an old card with more funds available to no avail, haha). I get this every time...

SOMETHING WENT WRONG
MRFACE19, YOUR PAYMENT'S STATUS COULD NOT BE VERIFIED DUE TO TEMPORARY TECHNICAL ISSUES.

Is this because my previous failed attempts to use a different card has done something to my account or are there general problems at the moment?

I also waited for 1 hour and retried but it did not work. I also contacted the support team 24 hours before and there are no replies.

There is a pandemic on, support will be slower than normal. I am sure it’s not life threatening to wait a bit. Try another payment method, PayPal generally works ok.

Then you will just have to wait I am afraid. I know my last ticket took 3-4 working days to get round, it was however resolved immediately the chap got onto it. It’s just they will have a huge queue of tickets and few staff and they are doing their best.
You were right! GOG support sent me a mail that I may get delayed reply of 2 to 4 weeks. But I understand their problems and should be patient in this time.
But still no replies.
Been having an issue with this, too. Two different cards won't work and no notification from the banks, so it's something on GOG's side.
I'm having payment issues as well. I've bought quite a few games from GOG in the past and I'm no stranger to having problems since GOG insists on using some sketcky bank in Cyprus that constantly triggers fraud protection. But the past year they just don't ever want to accept payment at all. So I've been spending my money elsewhere. These payment processing problems you're having, GOG, are costing you real money. You just lost another sale form me today, and you are making it less likely that I'll look to buy from you in the future. Because no one wants to deal with these absurd payment issues that have plaqued your service for the past 10 years.

I would really like to support you, GOG, but you make it very hard to do this with your chronic payment processing issues. This really needs to be fixed. Please get a bank that doesn't look like a giant black hole of fraud.

Edit: I'd just like to add that Steam has never once had payment issues for me. They might have DRM, but at least I can always complete payment. Considering the inability to pay on your service, I guess Steam will continue to benefit.
