every thread starts at page one, why not just write it as "6 pages"?

Clicking on 1 (or 6) takes you to that page, and in the settings you can set it to take you to the last page instead of the first. So you can click on the desired button to go to the desired page, no matter what your settings are.

Because I can click on the 1 or the 6 to quickly go to the first or last page of the thread.

You can mark sa favorite 150 threads, so every new one will be displayed on page 6 :)
