tfishell: (/s Or ... nobody cares about GOG because everyone wants all their games in one place on Steam, thus GOG dies, and if you die in the GOG you die irl. :P sad sadness saddy /s)

StingingVelvet: I think the intense rage and anger at Epic Games shows that people are very passionate about having all their games in one place, no matter the risks of that. Throw in a lack of caring about Steam DRM and you've got a recipe for impenetrable market share dominance. As much as people hate it, Epic's tactic of using exclusives and $10 coupons is honestly their best shot, and exclusives have always worked in gaming with the consoles. GOG ain't got that kinda money.
Yeah the rage is real. People hate on Epic because they have exclusives and would rather wait until the game gets released on Steam in an uncertain future. Really stupid because it means if steam goes down, bye bye all of your games.

At least having games divided over the various storefronts means even if one storefront goes down, you dont lose all of your games, even if they are DRM riddled and competition is always good. Steam fans want Steam to literally retain a monopoly hold over the market. Not good when they have already cut down on deep game sales.

I think people assume since Steam is so popular they're not going anywhere for decades at least, and they're probably right. The problem IMO is that it's not just shutdown you have to worry about. Another much more likely danger would be things like Newel retiring and Valve changing their policies, selling to a corporation, focusing on subscriptions, canceling support for Windows from before it went always online, whatever... stuff like that.

Given how wretched customer support is, I see no reason to assume that developer support is any better. Maybe it is, maybe it isn't.

I wonder if they have to deal with a bot too :D
If more people are going to start hating on Groundhog Day I'm going ot ask the OP to ask the mods to close the thread, because that's just unholy :D
