Better get ready, because Tainted Grail: The Fall of Avalon is out of early access!

Tainted Grail: The Fall of Avalon is an open world RPG set in a dark fantasy universe, on a bleak island on the verge of ruin. Getting into the plot, you’ll find out that King Arthur is long dead, and all the myths and legends are falling – and humans living in Avalon are desperately trying to search for new ways of life and new things to believe in, all while being attacked by spreading Red Death and Wyrdness. At the beginning, you’ll find yourself imprisoned in a damp, underground cell, an absolute nobody; but who knows, perhaps you’ll become the one who brings a spark of change and hope in this land. Get ready for tons of quests, loot, choices, and monsters!

You can also get Tainted Grail: The Fall of Avalon - Supporters Pack and Tainted Grail: The Fall of Avalon - Supporter Edition.

Now on GOG!

amok: It usually means the game is feature complete, not that it's completely bug-free. Yesterday’s update was a hotfix to sort out a couple of bugs.

If you haven't noticed, even games that don’t go through Early Access still receive post-launch updates to fix bugs. I’m guessing you’d prefer they just leave the bugs in instead?

Breja: Yeah, I noticed. It's part of why I usually wait months, at least, before buying new games. I really don't know why people accepted buying essentially unfinished games as finished ones. I just think there's something funny about a game getting a fix literally a day after leaving Early Access. If you're doing Early Access then just keep it in early access until it doesn't require more fixing.
It's because PCs are incredibly varied today, making it nearly impossible to predict every possible system configuration. Back in the days of yore, it was easier, there were fewer hardware and software variations. But now, with such a wide range of setups, bugs are bound to pop up as games are run on different machines. This is especially true for indie developers, who often only have access to a very limited number of test systems. And this applies to both Early Access and non–Early Access games - no game is completely immune to these problems.
Update is now also available on GOG
Here are the patch notes as I don't see them anywhere:
-------------------
Hotfix #1
This is the first, small patch we're introducing to the game. It brings:

Fixed difficulty selection bug (the Survival Mode was activating unintentionally),
Fixed sketches saving issue,
Fixed aim assist bug which caused attack issues when target disappeared (rare case),
Improved item icons for some items

The next, bigger patch is slated for the end of the week!
Thank you for your patience and have a great time playing!

--------------------

Got a couple of hours in yesterday, liking it so far. No performance issues yet on a 4080, i5-13600K with 32 GB RAM.

idbeholdME: Pulled the trigger on the Supporter Edition. Been a while since I bought a full priced new release. The most recent one I can think of was Serious Sam 4, so coming up on 5 years :P
I've found a lot of recent games that I'm willing to purchase full price, but little that GOG is getting unfortunately:

- Stellar Blade
- Black Myth: Wukong
- Dynasty Warriors: Origins
- Clair Obscur: Expedition 33
- Warhammer 40,000: Space Marine 2

GOG did get Ys X: Nordics, and I bought it on release, but otherwise... :|

Fall of Avalon does look quite interesting. Bit worried that people are overrating it because they're so desperate for a new Elder Scrolls (that Bethesda isn't delivering), but the favorable comparisons to Morrowind catch my attention. Also worried it's a buggy mess (...Western developers).

Almost sold on it and planning to watch more gameplay soon.

The opening cinematic screams Dark Souls:

We need more AA RPGs like these, it's looking very good. Nice to see fast GeForce Now support too.

True for the "not on GOG part". That's the most frequent blocker for not making full price purchases :P

As far as Avalon and bugs go, I personally have yet to encounter a serious one. But I'm taking my sweet time exploring every nook and cranny, so can't speak on the later stages of the game. There is some QoL stuff that will likely be improved over time and potentially some balancing but other than that, seems perfectly fine.

The biggest bulk of complaints seem to be on performance, but from what I've read, seems to be mostly AMD CPUs. I've had zero issues on my i5-13600K.

It's nothing revolutionary, but I'm having fun.
This looks really cool, wishlisted!

GOG has an ephemeral period where the patch has to travel along Poland post, arrive at the office, and then be carefully tested. While accounting for (ALL) holidays of Poland and the EU.

I like to add the fact that it also needs to pass the 'Kurwa' test... twice!
Apparently they got some issues with the GOG version. Something with saves, i dunno,

There are also devs having issues with the Steam cloud, so, nothing is failproof. However, usually devs may feel more motivated solving stuff on Steam because money is a big motivational factor, for a lot of us,

I still think the GOG version is with a good demand and i hope it will be up to date very soon.

At least i am glad they now made a third person mode, something Cyberpunk never was able to deliver. Although this mode is still very rough on the edges and it will need a lot of improvements.

The update went live on Galaxy 4 hours ago. So I'd expect the installer version later today or tomorrow. There has apparently been an issue which caused a delay in the update on GOG:

Installer is updated now.

Sure, 3. person need polish but it was not actually much better on Oblivion or Morrowind. Those games was in need of mods in order to truly shine. Mod support may become added for this game as well, i heard.

The honest statement is: 3. person is not only more difficult to create, the majority is not even asking for. However, a open world RPG is not a ego shooter, it is a atmospheric game that is living from ambience, good view and different perspectives.

From the update:

We’re working on enabling Mod Support—expected in about 3–4 weeks.
