Right, I've already had cataracts twice, like I can see that!? XD

realkman666: Or because they get new games on a regular basis.

Shendue: Actually, that was implied, when i wrote "compete with other services like Steam".
I don't fully disagree with the rest, but this is not implication.

It was meant to be. I'm sorry if i didn't express myself clearly. Anyway, i have no objection (avatar pun not intended but cool anyway) about GOG spokespeople stopping referring to the site as "Good Old Games" ALSO because of the wider and more diverse offer of contents nowadays, due to indies (that are not "Old") and movies (that are not "Games") . But i think most of it has to do with marketing purposes, as well. The two concepts aren't even in opposition, actually, since publicizing a site that sells modern indie movies and games as "Good Old Games" isn't good marketing.

I hope my thought is more understandable now. Sorry if i'm verbose and not always on spot, but, even if i'm kinda decent at it, english isn't my mother language, therefore my prose may not be brilliant sometimes.

:D

That totally makes sense. I guess the name was a good differentiator early on and they needed something more general later indeed.

Sure, it makes sense. I'm just saying it's still pretty obvious it's an acronym even if they officially don't aknowledge it.

madth3: GOG doesn't mean Good Old Games anymore. I mean oficially.

Shendue: Marketing-induced nitpicking. By itself, "GOG" has no meaning, unless you are referring to "Gog and Magog". It's still an acronym for Good Old Games by any common sense and logic. They just stopped aknowledging it because it sounds less appealing when they try to expand their potential market and compete with other services like Steam.
Also, goodoldgames.com still redirects to gog.com.
