Was it the mega drive? Than it could be thunderforce.

Was it on a PC or on a console like PSX, Sega, Nintendo. Did you use a keyboard or a controller?

You write "shoot em up" - did you see above the one you moved or was it like in 1. person? Or did it sidescrolled from right to left or upwards/downwards?
The easter island moai statues are featured in the Gradius games.

More info would help, like was the view from the top or side, was it a side-scrolling or up-scrolling game, etc.
Just a shoot in the dark: Interpose (DOS, 1996)?

Thanks for the reply, it is an airplane (Space) that goes from left to right, on auto scroll way. Thanks for the reply, the moai statues are just a background image, you cannot attack or interact with

Thanks for the reply, the view was from the side, where the screen will autoscroll from right to left. and it was on PC, I cannot remember if it was Dos game or Windows actually

Scrolls from right to left? Are you sure? That should certainly narrow down the games quite a lot, as I am unsure if I have ever played a shoot'em up that scrolled exclusively to left (and not right). Maybe I have, I just don't remember such.

No, I think he meant the screen itself autoscrolls

Maybe so... so scrolling towards right like the rest of side-scrolling shooters.

He meant the backgrounds (and projectiles, and unkilled enemies, etc.) slide from right to left while the "camera" pans -- and thus the player's ship moves -- ever rightward.
I haven't played Stargunner, but the environments in that one also appear to scroll from right to left (which is definitely much more common than left-to-right).
